Trans rights protesters interrupt Kathleen Stock’s Oxford Union talk

Trans rights protesters have interrupted a talk by feminist academic Kathleen Stock at Oxford University Union.
Prof Stock had only been talking for around five minutes before three protesters jumped out of the audience chanting, “no more dead trans kids”.
Two activists waved rainbow flags and threw leaflets before being booed by members of the audience and escorted out by security.

All Kathleen Stock has said is that a trans woman or man, is by definition not literally a woman or a man. A trans woman in hospital, would be deserving of care and respect, but medically she can only be treated as male. We should celebrate all, be they female, male, trans female or trans male, but certain rights activists have fundamentally misunderstood the concept of rights. What you wish and what 'is' are two different things.

These students seem insufferable. It's kind of sad to see this coming from a University like Oxford which has stood for academic freedom and rigour that is supportive of critical dialogue. It's a shame that Kathleen Stock is the subject of such vicious attack by these obnoxious kids with distasteful hairdos.

Free speech is free speech. Whether the speech is palatable to you or not. Discussion and debate is so important it cannot be undermined by those that shout loudest or glue themselves to the floor. Argue your case don't make childish gestures.

I'd understand it if it were illegal to dress or identify as who you want in this country but its not. You are free to do as you please as long as it falls within the laws of the land. What more right do you want than that? Quite frankly to be protesting about you lack of human rights when your a Oxford student who is from a very privileged backround is an islnsult to the men, woman and children otlf other countries where human rights are actually a real issue.

The professor needs to really ask himself how he allowed students to teach and lead him in regards to how one should speak. What a
