Restored footage from 1911 showing people walking on an unidentified street in New York City. This was filmed by cameramen working for the Swedish company Svenska Biografteatern, who were sent around the world to document notable cities and landmarks.

Footage frame rate increased, upscaled, and “colorized” using AI technology.

My grandfather was born in 1911 in Callao, Peru. Of Welsh roots, studied accountancy in London in the early 30s, then experienced the Depression, with breadlines everywhere. Different times in so many ways.

A whole year BEFORE TITANIC'S sinking. That puts it in even more perspective. Always wonder who some of the people were, what they did for a living, how long their lives were, etc, and especially if any of their descendants are unknowingly watching their great or great great grandparents
