Restored footage from 1911 of pedestrians walking through City Hall Park in New York City. This was filmed by cameramen working for the Swedish company Svenska Biografteatern, who were sent around the world to document notable cities and landmarks.

Footage frame rate increased, upscaled, and “colorized” using AI technology.

Repost: so many lives so many individuals so many different stories all captured for a few seconds frozen in time like your phone magically turns into a window into the past almost as if you can reach it, touch it, smell the air, feel the warmth of the sun, the windy breeze, all so beautiful and sad knowing they're all dead but yet here they are clueless to you watching them hundreds of years later long after they passed. I cried watching these like others. Seeing this is fascinating, are we all really that different imagine what went through their heads walking look how they designed stuff back then. I love it all

I really appreciate your making these films..my great grandma was born 1870 and my grandma was born 1890
My grandparents married in 1915 before he left for WW1..it gives me a visual of how they dressed and the transportation that they took..its truly a blessing to me. Ty vvm❤
