Restored footage from 1911 of pedestrians walking in front of the New York Herald Building in New York City. The building was demolished in 1921 to make way for other development. This was filmed by cameramen working for the Swedish company Svenska Biografteatern, who were sent around the world to document notable cities and landmarks.

Footage frame rate increased, upscaled, and “colorized” using AI technology.

Back then everything was done to such perfection and details . Be it the buildings or the way these people dresses up.

Can't believe they would demolish such a beauty! What a crime! Let's bring back this artistic, detail-rich architecture, for the love of beauty. ❤ Let's not lose these artisanal techniques forever.

This dosent mean anything, I'm just thinking out loud. When I see these old film clips I like to think of my Grand father that was born in 1896. He would be 15 in 1911. A young teenager, he lived to be 103 years old, he died in his sleep in 1999. He was a war hero, learned how to fly in 1917, B17 bomber pilot in WW2. An amazing person, sharp as a tack when he died. A 103.... think of the things he saw in his life. He was friends with Charles Lindbergh, knew General Doolittle. I miss ya Pop Pop, thank you.

What a shame, that building was beautiful. That black gentleman is so classy.

Look at all the detail people used to put on the exterior of the building. Wow we totally lost that thought of building it that way bc it was a beautiful thing
