Follow the steps below to change your primary email address on Facebook:
1. Open the Facebook app on your iPhone or Android phone.
2. Select the menu button in the bottom right that looks like 3 horizontal lines.
3. In the menu scroll down and select Settings & Privacy.
4. Select Settings.
5. Select Personal Information.
6. Select Contact Info.
7. In the Manage Contact Info you can now select Add Email Address to add a new email address to your Facebook account. To change change the primary email address simply select the arrow next to your desired email address.
8. Once the email opens, select Make Primary.

I followed your instructions but I'm getting a consistent error message stating that the old email address cannot be deleted until I've replaced it with a different mobile number or email.
