It would be REALLY helpful if they gave numbers behind this statement. That is, HOW MUCH was the plaque reduced, HOW MUCH did the cholesterol level have to drop to see this reduction, and HOW MUCH of "statin x" had to be taken to see this result (e.g. was 20mg of crestor needed over a 3 month period to see a reduction in LDL of 30% to see the plaque reduced by 25%). Without numbers, this video is meaningless.

I lowered my cholesterol after having a stroke by going on a whole food plant base diet. I'm surprised that doctors rarely include for patients to change the junk we put into our mouths as well. P. S. My bad cholesterol was 164 total cholesterol was 226. Now my LDL bad cholesterol is now 58, total cholesterol 123! I gave up all junk food.

As a doctor you should encourage the patients to try lowering cholesterol naturally before making it rain with Statin prescriptions.

Something I don’t understand. I have 5 mild to moderate blockages including 1 in the LAD. I also have a very high calcium score (950) - when the statins calcify the soft plaque, the calcium score increases. Doesn’t this just harden the arteries even more ? Thanks for this video. Very interesting

Also tell the side effect (dark side) of statin. Why dont you recommend strict good diet? This world is dealing with new threat- doctors!

No it can't, this is crap. If the body can damage itself through neglect or other ways than surely it can heal itself ? With the right environment and food.

Sorry but that claim is not backed up by fact

This video is near 10 years old. This study and its conclusions seem to be an outlier given every article I've read thus far points to no direct link between high cholesterol and Coronary Vascular Disease (CVD). Some of these statin 'studies' were funded directly by big pharma and I suspect this is just another one.
The video doesn't mention the drug used but I believe this is a claim made by Crestor. I hope I can find another study that corroborates the veracity of this supposed 'cleaning' of arteries but I think not.

I don't need to watch the video. I can just read the comments and go with their advice.

Lowers Cholesterol, but increases chances of Alz/Dem?

no, statin is not the standard of care for heart attacks, a healthy lifestyle is. also, systematically lowering cholesterol will create nuerological problems because the sheathe that protects nuerons is literally made of cholesterol, so good luck with this path

Statins will reduce inflammation it has been shown. But you need to stop what is causing inflammation leading to plaque. Statins can’t do that alone. You need to reverse insulin resistance. By the way doc. You know it’s the soft plaque breaking though the intema layer that clots and not continuous plaque growth that causes most heart attacks. If you stabilize plaque by reversing insulin resistance you will no longer need the statin.

This video should come with a health warning. sticking with this guy's analogy, for most, people just need to change the oils fuel and use good additives like K2-MK7 and D3. The words " from an accredited Hospital " usually tell me to skip the video for the sake of my health.

Statins are really bad for you. The long-term side effects are terrible.
