Wrong Lane in Driving Test!
You should drive in left lane always. This is the primary principal when it comes to driving in the UK, unless the left lane is not going straight. So, if the left lane is only going left and you missed the road markings and ended up on the left lane realising just before the turning – what do you do?
Should you go straight from this left lane which only goes lane?
You as a learner on the driving test must show the safety in the test more than the skills. Wrong lane driving can lead to an accident.
Imagine you’re in the wrong lane on a roundabout?
So, what do you do if you do end up in the wrong?
First thing you should try is to try to correct and change to the correct lane. But if you’re too close to a turning and you realise that you’re on the wrong lane, in that case check the mirrors and signal and go the way the road is leading. If that means you’re going toward a different direction to the one the examiner gave – that’s okay. The examiner will find you another direction and you won’t fail your test because of it.
Driving safely on a wrong direction is better than going straight from the wrong lane.
