Yup, they don't like weaving. Small stringers, nowadays. At first, I didn't understand, as, like you, We were taught weave technique. Wich requires more skill, to handle that much metal. Try a 3F with 5/32 7018. So I asked the QC why, and his answer was, less heat input into the joint, and each progressive bead annealed the last. Making for a much stronger joint. Made very good sense to me, 30 years ago. Been doing it that way ever since.💯 God bless, work safe.

I'm trying to get my 3/32 7018 cert, heavy to light and it's hard to find any info on it. Can't get past 7/8" before I burn the tough.
