Good but keep in mind new welders some places don’t allow whipping due to “ not consistent enough penetration “😢😢

And something else i do is turn that heat up more to about 25.6 and 300 wire speed and it will lay in there flat and wont have that kinda crown look

Slightly too fast you can tell by the ridge in the middle. Other than that looks like some nice arc transfer

Love the LOOOONG puddle and inconsistency. Really sells it.

Too high of wire speed is causing that spatter and the push and pull technique probably means not enough penetration but the bead looks clean so nice job

Only do this technique if u know it will blow through the metal. The more back and fourth or looping or some other motion u do apart from the straight pull/push motion, the weld will penetrate less. I guess if u guys really wanna do this, weld on a higher setting so that u can still get good penetration.

Watch me whip, watch me fail a weld test

He is only raising the puddle temperature and depositing more metal, making a small weld larger, and letting the puddle burn clean.Good technique, plus he is evening his edge tie ins and filling any undercut. GOOD TECH.

They can weld but don’t expect any explanation. This is called fishing for compliments

I love Spray Arc MIG. I was taught to use a straight push in class, but that stitch makes a great looking bead ;)

Ive never understood why ppl think to use a “forward, back and pause” method for short arc mig🤷🏻‍♂️ that will get u screwed a lot of time in any kind of test(bend or x-ray)…….. I was taught the “forward then pause” method to make sure you are always putting filler metal onto base metal and not running the chance of having cold lap in front of you after you’ve jumped backward……. Forward, back then pause works great for 6010 stick especially on some open root welds but not so much on short arc not filler welds

People saying not to whip because youll weld over slag dont understand the difference between mig and stick welding

That line down the middle and pointy beads is indicative of running a lil too hot from what i was taught. But nice width. That spray sounds cherry

It’s called herringbone. It looks pretty good not to much porosity

How years did the guy that adjusted his machine weld?

For y’all who don’t know this method is called spray arc you can whip it where it’s so hot, gotta have least 28-30 volts with 0.45 wire and a argon gas with least 80% or higher for example 80/20 85/15 90/10 95/5

I noticed how thick the metal was of the vertical peace and thought the method being used wouldn't achieve enough penatration for any serious load on it😮😊😊
