i've been playing pokémon my whole life, have never missed a generation, and i still thought pikachu had a black accent on the end of its tail until literally a couple months ago.

I’m 100% positive the Monopoly guy had a monocle! I played that game at a very young age and wondered what the round piece of glass on his eye was! This is definitely a shift in reality!

In my timeline Pikachu had the black tip tail, I know, I drew him like 100s of times.

That doesn't explain literally millions having the same memories, over literally dozens, if not hundreds of examples of these Mandela effects

If I were running a simulation and I wanted to see if my subjects could handle an event as reality-shattering as finding out they were simulated, I would run small tests to see how people handle coping with shared delusion on a massive scale. Something innocuous, but deeply ingrained. Like an advertisement, or a childrens book. Then the question becomes: Did they pass the test? And, if so, when will they see outside of Plato's cave?

The Mandela effect that pisses me off the most is the fruit of the loom logo. I remember learning what a cornucopia was in elementary school and when I would see the commercials I would always think “that’s a cornucopia” but then now that was never real? How did we all just add a cornucopia to their logo? I never think of cornucopias in my daily life and I remember when they introduced the people as fruits in their commercials I saw they removed it then.

It’s so funny to me that we call it the Mandela effect because as a South African, it seems crazy that people thought Mandela died in prison

The woman in the 1979 James bond movie who was attracted to jaws, she definitely had braces and no one is able to explain that one, there are loads of people who remember her with braces. That was the whole point of the scene and their attraction, they were attracted to each other because they both had metal teeth. The ending scene wouldn't have worked otherwise, guess what.... The ending scene has changed.

The craziest one for me is Britney Spears not having a headset.
My little sister was obsessed with Britney and we learned her dance moves from watching her videos over and over.
She 💯 had a headset. :/

The one that got me was the “Luke I am your father” which is now “no, I am your father” that’s when I really believed the Mandela effect. Same with jiffy which is now jif

I love humans.
"Is it possible you misheard or misremember?"
"PSSSH. NO WAY. Its obviously a glitch in the entire fabric in the world and reality being overwritten, not me."

I had a mandella effect where the live action lion King was released in 2016 and I watched it, and when it was released in 2019 I was super confused

The movie lines and quotes can be explained by people misquoting them or being parodied in other medias because out of context those quotes make less sense.

I experienced the mandela effect personally. In 2003 I got a tattoo of a lion's head over the left side of my chest. I distinctively remember it being on my left side because it kind of matched the tribal cross on my left arm. A few months ago i was laying in bed watching tv and had my shirt off and FREAKED to the point that jumped out of bed when I noticed that the tattoo is now over the right side of my chest.

I was an avid video collector, owning over 10, 000 movies. I had all seasons of Sex In the City (VHS) in a box stored away. I was embarrassed in front of family and friends, when I emphasized that it was Sex "IN" the City, and NOT, Sex "and" the City. I know I watched for many seasons, I know what I bought, I know what I had. So, I went to my storage room and retrieved the box of videos. I opened it in front of every one and all my damn boxed sets said Sex "AND" the City. Impossible.

when i was younger i actually remember watching the black and white series with pikachu having the black end in his tail, but then seeing the original series and noticing that pikachu didn’t have that black end of his tail. i grew up in life thinking it was just a design choice they made in black and white…

Somewhere in another universe there are a bunch of people saying nah bro Nelson Mandela lived until 2013, what are you talking about “he died in the 80’s”

To me, the Mandela effect comes from the fact that we live in a video game, and every time the game levels up, certain things are written incorrectly because the programmer didn’t think people would remember little things and simply didn’t pay attention to detail when writing the next level up! We live in video game people! 😏
