My friends little brother has stone man’s disease. It’s super tragic and crazy hard for the families dealing with it.

Awesome video! My one complaint is most people hospitalised with DID are hospitalised so they don’t harm themselves. More often then not the violent alters (personalities) are more likely to harm the body of the person with DID then others.

I'm honestly really disappointed when people fake having DID just because it's "cool" or "quirky" but my sister actually knew a girl who actually has DID because she would randomly change her personality or would pretend to be character from a show. I feel bad because I'm not sure if she fully understands the struggle and I feel bad for her having to be made fun of and not being able to control the way she acts.

I'm a professionally diagnosed schizophrenic who suffers with symptoms of DID. When you have DID, you're also amnesic. I've forgotten places, faces, and I struggle asking people for help. I'm not allowed to drive or be alone. Just about every source/interpretation of DID is wrong.

Mine was a result of repeated physical abuse and one instance of sexual abuse up into my teen years. If you believe you've been traumatized, start with trauma therapy. It is okay to reach out for help. Do not self-diagnose, as it can lead to irreversible damage.

The worst disorders in human history:

All of them. They’re all not fun for the victim who has it.

DID is hyper-represented. I've had a ton of people that claimed to have DID. Can't be that rare if they're seemingly everywhere.

The idea of alters in DID being criminals is a dangerous myth. While obviously I can't say it never ever happens, the main reason people with DID might need to be in a mental hospital is due to one or more alters being suicidal and a risk to the body, not to anyone else. People with DID are deeply traumatised, and suicide and self harm are the biggest safety concerns in regards to them, rather than a risk to anyone else. Also, I believe the level of amnesia is more related to how good the communication between two alters is, rather than the one who's out choosing not to let others see what they're doing.

Bruh as an s/a survivor the idea of being raped by your own hand is unironically terrifying in a way I can't really convey

The first disorder reminds me of when I was little, I used to think "Why am I a human ? Why can't I be a cow ?" lol

I remember seeing the alien hand syndrome represented in a patient in one of the episodes of House. They explained it as that his two halves of his brain didn't work as one, so the one that didn't communicate was the one that controlled his alien hand.

Have to say that DID is extremely rare. Only 1% of the population has it. Symptoms typicqlly begin between ages 5 and 10. You MUST have major trauma that occurred mainly before age of 9. This is not some cute disorder where u have whatever alters u want like ur fav anime character or a tv show character (have seen this on tiktok). This is not a fun disorder or one that can be controlled. This is a debilitating disorder not only mentally, but physically and socially. You literally have multiple alters and lose time and memories when you switch. You cannot make yourself switch (once again everyone on tiktok) it is INVOLUNTARY.

Had to vent because am so tired of people pretending to have a serious disorder and making the people who actually have it look dumb. And some of the people who were faking have since admitted it…

as someone with something kinda similar to DID (OSDD-1 which is basically when i have alters but I don't have any issues with my memory related to the disorder and most of our alters arent very different from each other) i have a few things to clarify. as far as im aware, there are very few to no cases of an alter actually comitting a serious crime and its more of a stereotype used in shows and movies. systems/people with disorders like DID are usually emitted to hospitals due to risk of suicide or self-harm. and im not sure if im just saying this because i dont have DID, but i wouldnt consider the disorder worse then muscle growing into bone or your hand having a mind of its own.

Im sad that these diseases are a thing. Its even sadder that teens will fake these disorders for attention and claim it as part of their "identity", and then nobody takes it seriously anymore - leaving people with these very real diseases with even less support. I hope we find a cure for it all some day...

I was put in a psych ward for 2 weeks due to DID, due to one of my alters that was extremely aggressive, and I was treated like some rabid animal 24/7. It is truly disgusting how many people fake DID. It is real, it is a struggle, and it is NOT the same as wanting to be multiple different people.

There's a woman I see in traffic on the way to work that has an alien hand. I've seen her a couple times. She keeps her arm out the window and constantly flails her arm around. Her door panel is smashed in, and the green paint is almost completely scraped away.
