Thank you so much man!! I listened to this video about updating my driver and it made my screen black for what felt like eternity. I just switched the hdmi to another port and that worked.

For me it was the fact that my second display has a resolution of 1440x900, and my main is 1080p. My main was trying to be shown on my secondary, and my secondary display just said "input not supported" in the middle with a black screen around because it's old. The Win + P fixed my issue. Thanks!

Thank you for the video, but I have a problem which is not on here, sadly. My monitor just goes black for about 1-2 seconds then comes back on again. It's been doing it for a few days and is completely random when it does it. I have changed the HDMI cable in case it was that, but to no avail. Have you any tips, please?

I have a DELL curve monitor and currently using DP chord. Randomly when i’m browsing, the audio of the screen and the graphics goes off and turns black. I’m currently trying a HDMI chord to see if it helps

What do you do if you have no other hdmi ports to try and change it to that because my pc won’t connect to anything after I updated my windows and I tried different hdmi cables as well as dpi but it didn’t work

I've been using mine for as long as I can remember and there was no problem but then later on I had to keep turning the screen off and on just to turn the whole computer on, the monitor was fine and then one day the computer wouldn't stop pressing the letter "C" so we shut the whole thing off. I've got it out again 1 year later and the monitor still works, I can hear the fan sound but the screen... it's black when it's off and then it lightens to a darker black, so it changes color a little bit but doesn't turn on... Can anyone help?

Thanks. I had this problem and fixed it by disabling G-Sync through NVIDIA. Whenever I play a game that has fullscreen turned on, it would just turn to black but disabling G-SYNC fixed it.

Thanks -That made me find my primary monitor and eliminate a reboot !
But I still don't know what is causing Windows 10 to randomly only find the extended monitor ?
Both my monitors is on BTW !

GOD BLESS YOUR SOUL!! My GPU came in and has been causing me trouble with the black screen. I tried your HDMI method and put the cable in the GPU along with the win+p and it finally worked. Thank you so much!

I have 3rd problem. The monitor, that is not working is on DVI cable, while in Nvidia Control Panel it is shown on VGA port. I had this issue before, and was able to fix it with unplugging/replugging DVI cable. But after recent Windows Update it doesnt work anymore. Method with Win +P doesnt apply to me, because my GPU has only 1 DVI port (1HDMI 3DisplayPort), so I do not have another DVI port to try on. If I completely uninstall the Nvidia driver, monitor works, but only until I install GPU drivers or Windows does it. How do I make it recognize my monitor on DVI, not on VGA.

So my laptop when I turn it on after it loads goes to a black loop screen where it stays there and when I try to do any system thing it requires a password, I use a pin, so it shouldn't be doing this, and I have been putting in my Microsoft password and have reset the password many times.

If I uninstall the video driver, the image apears, but it autoupdates the video driver and the image disapears again. If it doesn't update the video driver and I install the video driver, the same thing happens. It just works with no driver. Whyyy?!
