115mm 3BM4 APFSDS (3.2kg hardened steel penetrator [up to 650BHN], max diameter 42mm + 0.19kg steel cap, 4kg total) at 1600 m/s

vs

100mm armor at 60 degrees + 10mm ERA plate

3BM4 performance vs sloped and spaced armor:

*Velocity view is bugged due to the simulation crash. Everything was red xd*

*Initially, it was supposed to be a Nozh ERA simulation. However, similar to HEAT simulations, there was a computation time problem and I didn't want to present an incomplete simulation so it's just simple ERA*

So this is kind of like kontakt-1? With a thin plate to be fed into rods trajectory? Does this mean with a thicker plate it would be kind of like relikt?

we have to remember that ERA blocks that work against kinectic projectiles work on the principle on moving their plate sideways parallel to the main armour plate as to divert the projectile to a more oblique angle when contacting the main armour plate (like kontakt-5)

How much did the ERA help the armor, if at all? It would be interesting to see the simulation with an unmitigated impact for comparison.

Recommendation: show two versions side by side with same camera angle so laymen can understand the effect it has. Era vs non era in this case. In other ones heat vs aphe, etc. An undersized vs oversized round against the same plate. That way you're illustrating what "normally happens" vs "what happens in this exceptional case"

These simulations really reinforce the idea that momentum = energy. The astonishing velocity the tungsten rod is traveling at means that it's basically unstoppable by anything reasonably sized - all they can hope to do is blunt it or change it's course slightly so that it does LESS damage when it hits.

Interesting based on this type of ERA it would work well against HEAT rounds but against KE projectiles it serves more as an extra steel plate on the armor unless it's kontakt 5
