Relikt Explosive Reactive Armor Simulation

Показать описание
Relikt ERA features two reactives plates of the same thickness. For the purposes of the simulation, it was scaled because the comparative simulation was performed for a rod with a fairly small diameter.

ERA - 2x 12mm High Hardness Armor plate

Pentrator - 19x360mm tungsten alloy rod at 1550 m/s

Target - 145 mm armor plate at 70 degrees

Man I'm loving these more advanced simulations. I love seeing you progress and getting more and more interesting and informative content.

Wonderful work, as usual. It would be interesting to see what mitigating effect the HHA plates without the explosive would have, in comparison.

Thats the thing about ERA, its a surprisingly good system despite how simple it is

Be interesting to see different angles of attack and how much that effects the performance of the era

It’s fascinating to see how ERA can so dramatically impact kinetic penetrators. Before seeing simulations like this, my layperson knowledge had thought that ERA was really only useful against shaped charge munitions. Fascinating simulation as always!

I dunno if you can simulate this but, what about comparing the HE shells from different 20mm cannons such as Hispanos, MG 151s, ShVAKs, etc. on the wing of a plane? It would be interesting to see (if you can do it, of course.)

The only thing I recommend is that you leave the text on screen for a few seconds longer cause I have to go back to pause and read it. Good job with the simulation

Love your simulations. Thank you for sharing!

Thanks much for these videos. You may be the only to publish software tank armour piercing simulations, without your knowledge I don't know where I would be 😁

Very interesting. The ERA plates look kind of soft compared to the tungsten projectile, but still had a pretty substantial effect on it.
I guess the ERA shattered the projectile's tail, and that's what makes it so effective.

I wonder if it would be more effective with a tungsten ERA plate? Or maybe just very heavy and expensive ;)
Great video as always!!

That ERA did some really well job at reducing the penetration.

These are soo fascinating. Watched and liked every one. Nice work! Keep it up!

Very cool. I learned how ERA works against APFDS rounds. I had no idea - I thought it was primarily for protection from HEAT rounds. Thanks 👍🏻

This shows how useful those little squares are!

This is my favorite niche content on YouTube

I feel the best thing about ERA is that it provides better protection than RHA plates of the same weight.

Never clicked this fast on a video before, I saw Relikt and then Dejmian and hopped on over

I'm surprised it made so much of a difference!

Oh wow, never knew how ERA worked on AP rounds till now
really interesting how it works by simply breaking the rod
