The Nexus 7 is your new best small tablet

It doesn't outright obliterate the competition, but the new Nexus 7 includes enough improvements to win the best small-tablet crown. For now.

I actually think the large top and bottom bezels are well thought out and give a nice space to place your thumbs when holding either in landscape or portrait.

I got mine last week, the Gen 2 is so much better than the first nexus 7, 4.3 runs smoother & responds so much faster, the screen is awesome!!!.
I have an iPad mini as well, to be honest i carry them both with me, they each have their domain, if the mini gets retina & upgraded CPU & GPU, the mini will probably take top spot again.
Still really like the new nexus 7, the sounds is great too.
Android really really needs more tablet apps now.

Eric, a few constructive comments. You might want to explicitly state 2013 Nexus 7 in the title as opposed to the 2012 version to avoid confusion. Secondly, perhaps a little more enthusiasm on your next product review may encourage more thumbs up and subscribers.

On CNET's own Prizefight: Apple iPad Mini vs. Google Nexus 7, the Nexus 7 pretty much wins every category easily which is the tablets best contender IMO. Not sure why they now publish the tag line "It doesn't outright obliterate the competition".
