Thank you so much for posting this. Two local repair shops quoted $300+ and several days turnaround for replacing the screen, and instead this video let me do it in 30 minutes for $30 dollars. Can't say thank you enough!!

Thank you. I fixed my son's tablet and he is happy again. Well explained instructions.

Just one point from me - when applying the heat don't go too mad near the top - there is some frame plastic that starts to melt quite quickly. When I put mine together again the top speaker would not fit because the frame had moved. I had to reapply the heat to the frame for about 10 seconds and gently coax the frame edge back into position so the speaker would fit.

The glue does tend to loosen quite quickly and the temperature does hold for a while. You don't need to go mad on the heat.

The tablet doesn't have a showroom finish due to the melt described above, but it can't be seen once it is in it's case, and most importantly of all - it WORKS!

Thanks again.

After first watching this video I ordered through Fixez this replacement part for my malfunctioning digitizer screen, it was the PERFECT fix. Instuctions above were dead nuts on the money and tablet worked perfectly. Thank you guys for the very detailed installation process here, keep up the great work. Wish more were like this. Again thanks.

my nexus 7 screen has been flickering for a while and eventually packed in completely. bought a screen from ebay for £50 and followed this video to the letter and it worked perfectly, with no surprises at all. thanks for this guide!!

Instructions worked perfectly. Although I wouldn't recommend using a knife to pry the glass off as bits of glass might fly up at your face. What I found was easiest here was this: Put packing tape on the glass to contain shards. After all the components are removed and you heated up the edges of the glass, put on gloves, hold the glass away from you (face the glass to your worktable) and use your thumbs to push out the glass from the centre. Make sure you have a firm hold on the frame so that you don't bend it. The glass will break off at the frame edges. You will be left with the glued glass on the edges which can be scraped off with a knife or razor.

Hey, thanks for this. Took an A+ technician course just to be able to do stuff like this as a hobby, and this video not only helped me take apart and put together the Nexus 7, but gave me a solid understanding of how to go forward with other tablets / cell phones!

Bought this exact kit from fixez.com, followed the video and in about 45-60mins got my Nexus 7 rocking again. Thanks for the awesome video! Tearing the screen off was not easy but got it done eventually. I'd recommend also having safety goggles on as the screen shattered during the extraction from multiple points causing flying glass :)

Wow...I got five minutes in and figured this (the Nexus with cracked screen) was a lost cause. But I'll be damned if the Nexus isn't working good as new. Really well done, fixez folks. Thank you so much!

I did have a little trouble getting the old screen/digitizer out. Lots of little shards of glass and manual labor that the vid didn't really address. Also, had no idea what a digitizer was, or bezel, so the vocab was a little challenging. I wrote out a chart of where the black screws went vs the silver screws. But again, amazing tutorial.

For anyone who's going to attempt this...it took me about 4 hours across two days. Watched till the end and then did watch and pause for each step.

Just followed your instructions and it worked perfectly! It took me just over an hour to replace my screen and every stap worked out well. To remove the screen, I just used a hairdryer and it melted the glue just enough to to detach with a little tool. Thank you for making this so easy.

Thank you so much! Placed an order for a screen on 28/9 and it was delivered to my mailbox here in Sweden today. It took me about 1h to change screen and your guide made it possible. The only tricky part was getting the screen out of the frame. Thanks for your help!

Fixez after seeing your video it gave me a great confidence in fixing my kids nexus tablet witb broken LCD n Touch screen taking help from my father. Thanks to Morgan to let me know those QA screw I will put it back tomorrow morning. Removing the glass was most difficult. I had to reseat the yellow power/ data cable for LCD which was hidden behind one mother board. And finally it worked.

i just had to throw a huge thank you and high five out to you guys. The screen on my nexus got cracked and wouldn't work anymore like 2 years ago and I was so sad when it happened. I started looking into just buying a new one a few months ago but you can't really find them at big box stores anymore and I didn't trust 3rd party sellers. I found this video, ordered the parts from your website, and when they came in yesterday I sat down and followed this video and now its good as new. I was pretty proud if myself for not destroying the thing. So yeah, great job! If I happen to eff up my screen again I'll definitely be going at round two with you guys. Cheers!

I know this is a couple years old but I just needed to replace my screen and after watching a few other videos, this one is bar far the best. you point out important details and illustrate perfectly where other videos just speed through it or don't show it at all and one could end up pulling up the wrong thing and damaging or killing their device. Thanks for being so thorough!

Thanks so much for this great step-by-step. You saved my daughter from an untimely demise due to causing me to shatter the screen on my beloved Nexus 7. Easy instructions, followed right along with excellent results!!

Thanks! All seems to be working. At first, powered up but touch screen didn't work. Cracked the case again and made sure cables were connected right. Now it's working. What a pain getting the old screen off, but past that, all was a snap. Thanks again.
