I am astounded that the school, being aware of how badly she smelled, would even let her around children at all, let alone not speak to her about it. I've been around animal hoarders and the odor emanating from them is nauseating, impossible to ignore, yet it seems that is exactly what this school did.

The school knowing how bad she smelled should have done something to stop her from being with those children. !!!

Worked with a “cat lady” once. No one wanted to sit near her and when asked how many cats she had, she replied she didn’t know. The aroma was so strong. These animals are not rescues, but neglected. Prayers for all to recover, including the humans.

Why the school didn’t say something to her is mind blowing to me. You have to talk to people about their smell, if they smell. It’s hard to do but you just have to.

If she knew, she probably wouldn't have been like that. Poor lady, her poor mother, and all of those animals...so sad. I hope she gets the mental health care she obviously needs, and doesn't get punished too harshly.

Felonies aren't going to help this situation. Clearly it's a mental health situation and she needs help, not a jail cell.

I love this sheriff so much. His story telling has me enthralled every single time I watch him.
And this is just a sad situation.
I have 2 dogs and 2 cats and that is
a lot and they are expensive.
My heart is breaking for these animals

Yes this is horrific but hoarding is a mental illness. No need to humiliate her. She at least was spaying & neutering.
If she smelled that bad no one at school thought to report?
Jailing her does what good?

How did no one at the school she taught second grade, who all said she smelled terribly, do nothing? She was teaching seven-year-old children. I am glad the sheriff is involving the school board. The administrators and teachers at that school, who looked the other way, need to be charged as well, for putting all those students in their care, at risk. They go through training and sign paperwork that says they are required by law to report anything suspicious that may endanger children. She was covered in urine and feces, her washing machine was covered in feces and urine as well. She exposed those young children to all that bacteria five days a week. And her colleagues and supervisors did nothing to protect those kids. The school is Ben Hill Griffin Elementary in Frostproof, FL. How about an investigation FOX 13 re: why they did nothing.

Disgusting that the school she was teaching at didn't make investigations into her mental health, allowing her to teach young ones whilst being in that condition! 😠 Then there's the animals who have lived in squalor, not to mention her mother!

Yes it is terrible what has happened here...but Honestly...I hold no anger towards this woman, I do believe her intentions were good and I would like nothing more than to see her get the help she needs.The community should step up and help her clean her house and make it good again for her and her mother....Please people of Florida...Step up and help these animals...and please help this woman.Don't judge...just help..
