*One correction* to note is that the *8840U is an APU* and the GPU and CPU are NOT separate. The Z1 extreme Is actually just a 8840u without the AI cores, so it is using *the same 780m GPU cores*

I think for Zotacs first attempt - it’s a good effort! A bit expensive (I have the Rog Ally X, previously Legion Go) but at least the have tried to add some unique features right like the radial dials and camera (useful for Windows Hello) and Amoled screen non VRR.
The VRR screen on the Ally X really helps with games that run at 45fps upwards….
The main reason I sold my Legion Go (great device) was battery life - it drained so much when playing at 20watts.
The Ally X just lasts for hours…
Either way - you have to love the fact that there are more companies competing now which should push the quality aspect up from most companies.

honestly, for me. The camera is a selling feature! looking to get this as im starting isolated/remote work. And having a bigger screen to talk to family than just my phone would be so nice!

It’s supposed to come out today but I have yet to see any online or even on there website there treating this device like it’s some exclusive item why not post a release date even asking them on email they seem to not even know when there own product will release its ridiculous

wew 780m was integrated its still APU 8840u. same as ryzen 7840u without the ai of the 8840u. and still the same with the z1 extreme.

The 780M is the integrated Graphics of that CPU. It is not a separate graphics chip. If you are going to report on this, please do your due diligence and report accurate information. Otherwise, it's a decent overview of the Zone.

I didn't expect to be praising Asus for focusing on the right things above its competitors recently. That battery at that price point is just NO.

This whole summer has really just been Asus making a big push while other big brands tip their toasies.

right now the most appealing handheld PC product is only Rog Ally X and Steam Deck

Rog ally x offer a very solid performance with great battery endurance
while SD offer cheaper price with decent performance

I'm excited about this device, but those bezels and that D-Pad... YIKES!!! However in hindsight comparing it to the Steam Deck, the size of 7 inches on the screen is a good compromise. Ideally personally I would prefer 8 - 10 inches. And that price...USD $1, 105.00 isn't expensive when compared to the launch prices of the GPD Win Max, Win Max 2, and Aya Neo Kun. 2 hours of AAA gaming on a powerful handheld isn't horrible.

Looks awesome! That battery holds it back! Ally X is the gold standard.
