In today's video, we are diving into an important topic in context of breast cancer which is breast pain.

We will explore what breast pain is, what causes it, how it presents, and what breast pain means.

Breast pain is not dangerous at all. As a symptom, I would say it is the commonest symptom, I see people present within the clinic. Most women will experience breast pain at some point in their lives. Whether you are premenopausal, postmenopausal, young or old, whether the pain is cyclical , or whether it happens with no rhyme or reason, breast pain does not discriminate and it can effect all women of all ages at any time and the nature of the pain can vary quite a lot.

It can be sharp and shooting, dilate, burning sensation, prickly sensation, itchiness, a sensation of swelling, all sorts. Without the presence of any ther symptom, breast pain as a symptom, it's nothing to worry about.

Hi Dr. Tasha, thanks for ur informative help.
I have a dense breast naturally and have two sons breastfeed each for 20 months.
A week ago I noticed a lump on both breasts and have ultrasaund confirmed multiple well defined cysts. I am at premenopausal (54).
I feel warmth specially when I wakeup at night specifically on my left breast. Should I need further examinations like mamogram or biopsy? Please help,
Thanks
