"Your mother knits socks that smell." I've seen this line be used in a TV edit, and it makes the viewing unintentionally hilarious! 😂🤣

I would love to have seen this movie in a theater back when it was first released. Before we became so desensitized by movies like we are now. The horror and shock the audience felt is pretty infamous. It's very hard to do that these days. To have people fainting, throwing up, and running out of the building in tears because a film affected them so much. I dare say that's all but impossible for a mainstream horror film to do today.

Max Von Sydow and Jason Miller are just great in the "power of christ" scene!

When Reagan threw her mother across the room, the scream Ellen Burstyn let out was real. She fractured her spine when she hit the floor.

Also, after watching this video I now have to watch the movie. I'm just glad I have it on DVD.

I think Linda Blair's acting skills are underrated, at least in this movie. Realizing how young she was, she did an amazing job.

There is also a blink and you'll miss it moment where you can see the demon's face during Karras's dream. It's an interesting jump scare where I needed to pause to fully comprehend what I just saw.

I was 6 months old when this movie came out. Wasn't allowed to watch it til I was 13. I absolutely love this movie. It's the only movie that scares me.

6:18 Creepy real life fact about this scene, director William Friedkin was inspired to include it after seeing radiographer Paul Bateson perform one the year prior to the film's release.

Bateson was even given a cameo in the film as one of the technicians.

6 years after the film came out, Bateson would be arrested and charged for the second-degree murder of journalist Addison Verrill. He was also suspected of having committed the murders of 6 gay men in New York and reportedly even bragged about having done so, but he was never charged for them, and they remained unsolved to this day.

Bateson would serve 24 years and 3 months in prison for Addison's murder before being released in 2003.

William Friedkin would use this story as inspiration for the movie Cruising.

I watched the re-released from the original in the theater, and the "spiderwalk" scene was the most terrifying, for me.
I LOVE that movie, but scares the hell out of me, to this day.

A yes, the franchise that single handedly skyrocketed night lamps sales on the year it was released.

Say what you will about The Exorcist III but that movie has several scenes that STILL creep me the F out, decades later. 😮

Linda Blair looks fantastic, even after all this time! Nice to see that after all these years she's still turning heads.

The hospital scene was the toughest part to watch for me

That one minute scene from the crucifix/head turning then speaking in Burke Denning’s voice, while asking her mother now that she knows Regan killed him after Kinderman left is about as visually and mentally intense a one minute segment you’re probably ever going to get from a motion picture.

The movie was both incredible and scary
