When I was a kid, I would say, "I'll bet Godzilla could beat up that face"

Sometimes the less you see something, the more effective and scary it is. The Exorcist really understood this concept. I love how the film showed only brief flashes of Pazuzu, as if a passing thought in the mind. Very creepy!

The fact that there's no sound during this scene makes it even creepier

This scene scared the be-Jeezus out of me when I first saw The Exorcist age 11 in 1979.

Most of my dreams were like this
I.e. without sound and no Demon faces.

That demon face was honestly more scarier than the movie… slightly

Behold, a dream sequence that is necessary, not pretentious, holds substance, and doesn’t lead us on with a twist reveal that it is a dream. It even feels appropriately dreamlike by grounding itself with established characters and scenery whilst being abstract without feeling like an arthouse film.

This shit scared the PISS out of me as a kid. Even as a 30 something now it still is unsettling. I can’t rewatch this movie ever because every time I did something bad would happen and the same goes for my mom

I think the movie makers know more about the spiritual realm than they lead on. My friend and I both seen a face just like that in the window of a supposed haunted house that nobody lived in at the time. 3 different families had moved in and out over the span of like a year and a half. The people who lived next to it had weird pictures of the house with like orbs in it and stuff. They told us that people who used to live their did drugs and rituals so one weird spooky midnight we decided just to walk around and look through the windows. Didn't see a thing but on our way back to the alley, past the windows we already looked in, we both looked at the second window and ran as fast as we could and didn't stop till we got to his house. I told him to tell me what he saw and he said he seen a white face with sunken black eyes and big gnarly teeth. I was shocked because that's exactly what I saw. it was just a face too, no body. Not even the best hologram technology today could mimic how real this looked and it was 15 years ago.

Dream sequence was the most chilling scene of that movie for me when I first saw it I was probably 13 I saw I saw the woman who did that she was an actress. I think she was the voice person and they she just happened to have features like she did, Reagan’s voice, I might be wrong either way scary scary in the fact that they just show up from a millisecond. Makes it all the more effective. He was a great director.
