Is the Fedora Design Suite a great out-of-the-box Linux distribution for photographers?

Greetings from the Fedora's darktable co-maintainer!

Nice. All computers have Fedora in my house, but in future I'm going to have to consider installing Fedora Studio remix rather than vanilla Fedora and then installing all my photography applications.

I use eOS with Ubuntu Design library and absolutely love it. Went from Fedora Design back to Ubuntu and finally realized I couldn't part with elementary and Ubuntu had a really well made library, so to me it was a win-win situation.

Nicely done! I see that you used Kdenlive for making it. I like it too. I have tried Darktable a few times and liked it. Got good results with it. But, DigiKam is still my favorite. I also like Gwenview a lot for viewing my images. And since I can't stand not being able to rename files within File Save/Open dialog boxes, I gravitate away from Gnome apps. All of this leads to me preferring the KDE desktop.

I've used the Fedora KDE version before and liked it. But, getting all the multimedia stuff setup was a bit of a chore when compared to other distros. I wonder if the Fedora Design Suite comes multimedia-ready as well. For them moment I am using Open Suse's KDE version. Not only does it do everything I need really well, I also find it to be the best looking OS, bar none, I have ever used.

That said, I know that there is no distro that fits everyone perfectly. And I am very glad that the Fedora Design Suite exists for those that can live with crippled File Save/Open dialog boxes. ;)

Thanks for the video. How is it compare to Ubuntu Studio? Are there another distro options for photographers? I have always like ubuntu studio but 16.04 seems to work a bit buggy on my 5 years old Latitude laptop

Also, looks like Fedora releases being support for just around a year. What happens to it after that? Can you upgrade to the next release smooth? Do you get many issues with a not bleeding edge hardware after upgrades? (I not planning to change my photography station (laptop) because it does what I need
