When I first started using Fedora, the main cons were that the community was small in comparison to Debian and Arch, and that it was relatively unstable. These prior cons have become strengths of Fedora. The community is strong and its as stable as any Linux flavor I've tried yet. Amazing piece of software.

Chris Titus Tech just switched to Fedora as well and he’s as enthusiastic as you are.

I ended up having almost the same experience you did. I was a long time Debian user who recently installed Fedora on my laptop and loved it. It is like someone took all of the little annoyances of Debian (specifically apt) and fixed them without becoming alien. Great video and I look forward to seeing more content from you.

I recently installed Fedora alongside Windows on my Laptop. I'm a (relatively new) IT student, so Linux is something I want to get more invested in now. I had a little bit of experience with Ubuntu and Debian in the past (for like testing out virtual machines), but I wasn't interested in Linux at all back then. And now I chose Fedora as my "first" Linux Distro. I thought it would be cool to use it for university stuff i.e. programming. I still need to figure out a lot of things, getting used to the terminal commands and install all the programs I need, but it's kinda fun to do so :D I chose Fedora mainly because it got recommended to developers and people in IT and as an IT student I thought: why not. Rolling updates were also a plus for me and the fact that there is a community all around it, so I don't need to worry that I won't get help should I need any.
And yes, it was surprisingly easy to install. Another point why I chose Fedora :D

I just installed fedora a few month back. I wrote it off initially for no reason. Maybe because the name isn’t as cool as other distros. My only problem is my wifi card in my MacBook didn’t work in the live usb and after install. A few minutes of searching I was able to get it working. Aside from that I 100% agree with the whole syntax with Pac-Man. dnf is just more simple and I prefer that.

This is the second video of your channel that i watch, and is so good to see someone going to Linux! I've started with Mint, then Ubuntu... Now i ended byusing MX Linux on my notebook and Manjaro XFCE on my desktop. But now i'm really tempted on changing to Fedora xD

I initially started my Linux experience on Manjaro and ended up using Arch on several computers for about a year, but I've slowly transitioned all of my computers to fedora. The ease of install and maintenance of fedora is very welcomed when I don't have a lot of free time. Only issue I have with fedora is it's propensity to crash during an update. I've had this happen on multiple occasions on different devices, most of the time it's recoverable- but I have had it break systemd and the initramfs before.

The reason I have ignored Fedora for years is the small software repository and driver issues. I have installed Fedora recently on my desktop and I love it how stable, smooth and responsive the system is, everything works, no driver issues and I was able to install from the repository all the software I need this time including even proprietary graphics drivers which I was not expecting. I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for a smooth and stable experience to get everyday tasks done.

I was going to try out Fedora this past week, I had been reinstalling my OS because of switching some disks around, but because 36 wasn't released I didn't think it would be a fair test/comparison. I haven't used Red Hat since version 6, back in about 1999, so there are probably a few changes. So I gave arch a try, after using manjaro for a couple of years and really like it so far.

ive been a dual booter for a long time now,
windows 11 and secureboot is what made me stop using arch(not endeavor or manjaro but arch itself) as i didnt want to mess with secureboot settings and parameter.
i used to run pop os on my laptop for my education to.

this is the first time ive ever used fedora and everything is so wel made, like the oem windows style installer which only asks to create the user after booting into the os which makes it super easy to setup for other people. i personally still use the terminal for updating as its still allot faster but the software center means of installing after reboot is amazing to have as a default for regular users, progress bar and all, its very cool to see how much effort fedora put into the experience for the average user.

I remember the first time I installed linux Red Hat, it was 1998, talk about cryptic. no help, no chatroom just had to wing it. Liked it actually. I'm glad to see Fedora is making a huge come back. Back then, there was Fedora Core

I’m switching from Ubuntu to Fedora 40 and I put Ventoy on a usb drive and installed on my laptop. I am dual booted with Windows 11 and Kali Linux. After installing Fedora I can’t boot or log into Fedora. Any ideas?

Best of all, if you can't stand Gnome like me there are Fedora Spins with alternative desktop environments fully set up; or you can even start building your own system from a TTY with Fedora Server if you really want that Arch Linux installation experience.

It's good to see a young man like yourself getting enthusiastic about a Linux distro that you have not tried. I've been using Linux almost since inception. I used Redhat before way as well (ver 5.0). When Redhat was the main distro (and no Fedora) there was forks back then like Mandrake/Mandriva of it as well. Then Redhat kept it main release for enterprise customers and Fedora for the community to keep doing the test of updates going forward. The one thing that I need to mention is I also, have been using plain old Debian for a very long time and I can tell you one large point that that you missed in your video, is Debian takes way less resource to run that Fedora. While Debian may not have that much "eye candy" than other distros out there, you will find that Debian is one of your best choices for older systems. Even the other non-supported ISO that Debian has like LXDE or MATE.

Debian testing, specifically KDE desktop environments, are not stable enough. KDE 5.22 was booked for a good 3 weeks because of kind bug. Then there are many pipewire related audio issues. I wanted a something in between stable and testing, even MX Linux is on Debian Stable. Fedora is the only option for me now. Waiting for Fedora 36 final release.
