I bought a new 4 Runner in 2019 despite many car review sites claiming it’s an antiquated dinosaur of a vehicle. I bought it precisely for the reasons cited. It is truly built like a tank and I feel confident driving it anywhere on our retirement adventures. Oh and the resale value on it is phenomenal. With the inflated values of used cars now it’s worth more than I paid for it

I own a 2017 Lexus RX-350, you cannot beat the reliability, comfort and luxury of this vehicle. I also have a 2009 Lexus ES-350 with 180, 000.00 miles and still rides very smooth with no issues.

I own a 2004 GX 470 with 300, 000 miles on it and it is going strong. I intend to factory order a 2023 GX 460 in November to upgrade with all of the new technology that Lexus has come up with since 2004.

I have a 2005 4 Runner that runs like new. Awesome vehicle. Nothing but routine maintenance over the years! Your entire list is spot on!

I've been driving my 2008 4Runner for over 13 years with no problems at all (with just normal dealer servicing). It still looks and drives like new. I think I'll keep it for another 13 years.

Proud owner of a 2007 Toyota Highlander Limited. Never has caused me any problems. I stay on top of all recommended maintenance. It does have a timing belt. Just had it changed for the second time. I don't even mind. The thing is like a brick house. I'm trying to hit 500k!!! Agree with all his recommendations.

I still have my 2003 RUNNER SR5 with 223k miles, I had it for 18 years and I called it "OLD FAITHFUL". I replaced the starter and alternator and few minor issues then and there, and regular maintenance. I have to say that 4RUNNER is the best. I won't even entertain the idea of trading or sell it.

I have a 2000 4runner bought it new and now has 267K miles on it and it runs like a champ looks great inside and out it just keeps on going. We also just bought a 2017 Highlander with 23k miles looks and drives like new and hopefully we have it for as long as the 4runner.

Definitely the Toyota or Mazda. We have the CX-5 now and it’s a very good vehicle

Thought you would of included the new 2022 Kia Telluride, but I'm guessing they don't qualify because they haven't been around for at least 5 years. I just bought a new 2021 Toyota RAV4 this past October and I'm seriously thinking about upgrading to a new Toyota 4Runner. Great video.

I am a 4Runner Lover from day ONE.. I have had a 1996, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2003, 2010, and a 2012... Yes mine, my kids, and my wife, also my oldest daughter drive a 2007 Highlander. Hand down i love the reliability and dependability of these Toyota SUVs and highly recommended. at around 120k - 150k Miles you need to change the rear traction Seal and the bearing (might as well) and you will know because the rear end differential fluid will leak on the rear tires. i have changed because someone hit me or got a good deal on a new one.

if you are in the market go with a toyota...

As an old (65) overweight man, for my money nothing beats the buttery smooth V6 engine of the 2022 Lexus RX 350, bought one last year (premium) love it so much I got the luxury package one this year (both low miles & certified)
Not enough words to describe the accolades, comfortable, spacious quiet gorgeous cabin, safety and that luxury feel, outward visibility is terrific and they are the last RX 350s V6s to run on 87 octane gasoline, a difficult combo to beat.
Now I sincerely hope I can live long enough to enjoy them for many years. 😊
