I'm saving for a car myself and in about three months I'll be visiting Matt's showroom as I know that he's an honest guy with integrity who will have definitely put every job in the car right. Plus, I know the gearbox will have been serviced and the cupholders working impeccably!

Hi Matt.
When you said "I have tried to restrict this list to cars I would drive myself", I thought "Uh oh!"
For a minute I thought it was going to be a list of 8 Range Rovers!
🤣

Do a top 10 “garage toy/weekend car” for under 20k. Something fun/fast/not a daily drive. Also something you can have for a year or two and not lose a fortune on…..

I can't believe you've put the IX35 on this list, I've had one from new since 2013 albeit the 1.7, its absolutely bullet proof, its averaged over 50mpg since new, not a thing has ever gone wrong, the body and internals feel as new and as sturdy as they day it was driven out of the showroom. I keep threatening to change it but with a granddaughter coming up to 17 shortly, its going to her. I keep preaching to friends how great these Hyundai's are, I'm getting the Santa Fe next.

Recently had to do a short video for my business; just talking about how I became an electrician and the way I treat customers. What I thought sounded smooth and informed was a mash-up of Essex "estuary English", ill fitting clothes and jumpy segways. REAL RESPECT to you. People in Youtube land don't know how hard it is to produce the videos you do, to the standard you do. Well done.

Been looking forward to this video Matt. I bought a brand new Kia Sorento auto in New Zealand as a daily driver over the Kaimai Mountain ranges daily commute, the auto gearbox was smooth as was the 2.2 TD - very reliable and good tech inside comfy too and 7 seater, great when you have a big family.

Thank you.
I watch lots of car review videos and it’s usually someone stood next to a vehicle unemotionally spouting facts and specifications about the car. I doubt they have even driven it much. I always think “that’s OK but what’s it actually like?” From the point of view of someone who’s genuinely used it in real life and can compare it to a million others they’ve owned, sold and used. That’s the advantage of your videos. Much appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you Matt, that was a really good selection of SUV's to consider. The Touareg has always been a favourite of mine but only because J had never considered being able to afford the Cayenne, how little I knew!
The X6 is a Stonking good car and is really at odds with it's stable mates which is good!
I think I'll have to watch that a few more times to fully swallow all the really good info you provided us so many thanks

Hi Matt, I bought a 2010 Kia Sorento 2.2L Diesel on the strength of your recommendation and I am extremely happy with my buy. It's a silver 5 seater Auto box and we love it to bits. As reliable as a swiss watch and it's got some vooma too, when I put my foot down it the turbo does a good job of turning the suv into a hooligan street racer. Thanks for the recommendation.👍

I always have a chuckle when you say “it will put you in the top tax bracket of £585”, in Ireland the highest tax bracket for a car is €2, 350! The likes of 3.0 engines are €1, 809, 2.5’s are €1, 080. 2.0 is €710, 1.6 is €636, all the way down to <1.0 which is €199

Thanks so much Matt, for the Carvertical heads up - checked a Lexus today very low miles and on Lexus used cars yet despite no recorded damage, several failed MOT's on numerous counts inc damage to panel pushed back in to pass MOT, leaking shocks several years, tyres down to canvas/damaged several times and rear door damage taped up and the list goes on = Well worth the check

Thank you for another great top ten video, I really enjoy watching these.
Not everyone needs or wants a big barge of a vehicle to lug about. Would you consider doing a review of smaller, more compact SUVs- especially three-door versions?
Additionally, could you clarify your advice about preferring Petrol engines over Diesel engines? If I recall correctly, you recently stated that it is best to avoid modern diesel engines because they are too complicated and are consequently prone to going wrong. Apologies if I have got this wrong.
Finally, are diesel engines worth it if you are only doing about 8, 000 miles per year?

Thank you for this video, I'd never heard of the IX35 before but your video inspired me to buy a 2011 IX35 today for my wife, high mileage with 100k miles but purchased at a decent price Thank you.

An XC60 D5 is on my shopping list for later in the year. I'm not overly tall, but at a leggy 6 ft 4 they fit me a treat. Actually slightly better than my current Audi A6 avant. If you're thinking of reviewing the XC60 I think it would be a popular video. Thanks for all your time and effort and please keep the reviews coming.

I am really glad i found your channel (a gentleman and a scholar) I have listened to you and find you sincere, but more so your practical experience over the years the tips and the sad stories of being ripped off and how to avoid it. I hope you every success in the future you surely deserve 💯

Great content at the moment Matt. Thanks for sharing. How about your top 5/10 favourite supercars? Know they aren't a thing really on this channel, which makes you stand out btw, but getting your view on your most desirable super cars would be interesting.

Had my 2013 ix35 diesel from new. Absolutely love it!!
Trouble free motoring so far with only servicing and tyres needed. Doing the timing belt next month.

I paid £27k in 2018 for a 5000 mile (17 plate) XC60 D5 R Design, it has 35k miles on now - webuyanyshed is quoting about £21k trade in. Great chunk of a car, comfortable and still manages the Snow of Northumberland easily, and muddy tracks when I go fishing.
