It should be remembered that Ukraine has captured many tanks from the Russians. If you take only Soviet tanks, Ukraine has more of them than before the war. Before the West supplied heavy weapons systems to Ukraine on a large scale, the Russian Federation was unintentionally Ukraine's biggest supplier of heavy weapons systems in this war.

You can keep using a blown bearing, but you risk heat buildup of all parts around the bearing. Seized and/or blown bearings are a b**** to work on compared to replacing them before they completely fail. You go from needing simple tools like a hammer and punch to a cut-off torch and grinding disks. Adding down time and risky maintenance on the battlefield

My grandfather fought in WW1 and he often said that the best weapon against a tank was a soldier with a bottle of gasoline. Properly utilized, that is still quite effective today.

I saw a Statistic just the other day that by 1945 the Soviet Union was producing 1600 tanks a month. Wow talk about changing times. Yes modern tanks are much more complex than a T-34 85 but it is still amazing that a country that loves tanks so much could allow its production capacity to fall so dramatically. I wonder how many M-1 variants the US can produce monthly?
