If the Ukraine military isn't resupplied, and rearmed soon, it won't mater how old Russia's tanks and weapons systems are. OLD weapons beats NO weapons

A retired American General summed up it perfectly

The largest part of the Russian military isn't very advanced and the advanced part of the Russian military isn't very large

Well, corruption is worldwide, unfortunately. It's a shame and shameful hypocracy that the rural areas of RU are practically starving and that's not getting better any time soon. RU has never known true freedom. They went from serfdom to communism to totalitarianism. Oh, Moscow and St. Petersburg are beautiful and appear prosperous but go out into the country. Regardless of the cause, RU should invest in the future of the countryside. And guess who gets conscripted. Yeah, very unfair.

There is a reason we have in Finnish verb "Ryssiä" (Muscovy ), roughly meaning "to totally fail something".

Here in the U.S. we still use very old weapons such as dumb bombs. We just engineered away the problem by making "add-ons" that turn them into "smart" weapons. That's just a well known example. Sometimes, in the right circumstances, a bullet/shell made in 1976 works as well as one made in 2024. It seems Russia is taking that to an extreme no matter the circumstances, or consequences.

Russia took 2 years to take an amount of land I could walk across this afternoon.

One simple fact: if you are dependent on N Korea for munitions, then you aren't as strong as you pretend to be.

I served in the Soviet army while it was getting ultramodern weapons for Topol systems. Topol is intercontinental missile. I don't know how reliable Topol is but all the special apparatus in the special vehicles were of a poor quality. My MOBD was just delivered from the factory but no a block or mechanism did not work without continuous adjustments and repairs. During the war I fought Shturm S ATGM demonstrated similar performance. The essential part of the war are military logistics and battle maintenance and those were weak as well

I always chuckle at the clickbait titles. I stay for the surprisingly comprehensive analysis.

Correction: The Khinzal missile is not hypersonic. It is a simple ballistic missile, which has been proven by several of them being shot down by Patriot weapon systems.

A gun, no matter it's age, is still capable of pretty devastating damage.

If you deploy your outdated tanks from storage, your enemy can also deploy their outdated, cheap anti-tank weapons.

At 8:30 you say the most conservative estimates claim those numbers, but there's uniquely identified photographic evidence for higher numbers than that.

When people want to know which books in English best describe the Russian way of war I always mention two books by Suvorov "The liberators" and "Inside the Soviet army." Despite being published in the 1980's, a great deal that Suvorov (a highly placed GRU officer in the Red army, who defected to the west) describes in his books as the Russian way, still seems to be very much alive and well with Russia's "modern" army in 2024.
