He just showed us literally when there’s a will, there’s a way. Important thing is to keep the dream alive. Not everyone can do it but it doesn’t mean that it can’t be done. Truly inspiring from captain jo.

30 this year, I am just like JFK, a huge fans of aviation, playing flight simulator and even tried the real plane experience. Family was not in the place where I could pursuit my Commercial Pilot Dream. But I will be getting my PPL in the near future. Cheers!

Very good interview, I hope Capt JFR could exemplify many people that if you set your goal and willing to work on your goal you can achieve it. Also he breaks the stigma that Malays need to be entitled helped by the govt etc. He worked hard to be where he's today. Hats off captain.

He avoided answering the question about salaries and instead diverted the conversation to subjective ideas about money, emphasizing that wealth is a matter of individual perception. While his opinions on the topic are valid, he failed to address the question in a way that satisfied anyone. In contrast, I have concrete information from two pilot friends working at AirAsia. While their earnings may vary, this is what they actually make in a month.

Junior First Officer = RM 4, 000
First Officer (ATPL) = RM 5, 500
First Officer (>2, 500 hours) = RM 6000 - RM 8000
Captain = RM 13, 000 - RM 27, 000

Some individuals receive additional allowances ranging from RM 5, 000 to RM 7, 000 per month.

Agree! Malaysia is the best country! Speaking as someone who has travelled to 35 countries, relocated out of Malaysia, and eventually returned, I can confidently say so.❤🇲🇾

I get you. Was living in Pekeliling flats in the late 60's. Block G, sixth floor. Corner space, where you hear sounds of rubbish thrown from upper floors but so much fond memories ....

i wanted to become a pilot since i was 21 and i went to several assessments with different airlines and definitely airasia was one of the airlines that i went for assessment. the last assessment was back in 2018 with Singapore Airlines. unfortunately i didnt get the cadetship although i reached the final stage in 2012 and 2018. now i am 37 and i am still passionate just like the first day i decided to pursue my dream to become a commercial pilot. hope 2025 will be my lucky year.

wow. that's a life lesson I'm listening to. Can be apply to whatever career you wanna be. Let's be real. Everyone has their own version of success. But if I can list out those with victim mentality, never failed in life.. almost none exist in successful people. Changing our mindset first.

Enjoyed this. My son Asher wanted so much to be a pilot with the RMAF and had all the right qualifications except his genealogy colour. So glad to hear JFK story. Resonates so much and is a good example of grit! And keep the scholarships going...you have touched lives I am sure. One day you will see your fruits.
