In this episode we take a look at the Top 3 Pens of Yagan Kiely. With so many beautiful fountain pens on the market, it comes as no surprise that writers and collectors like to fill their pens with matching inks. Since there are quite a few inks out there, ink reviews come in really handy. In your search for the perfect ink, you’ve probably come across the ‘Macchiato Man’ blog, where Yagan Kiely reviews and compares inks.

Since he not only collects inks, but also fountain pens, we’ve asked him to tell us about his 3 favourites. He decided to get a bit creative with the assignment, and instead show us his favourite pen from 3 different categories.

I refer to Macchiato Man's ink reviews all the time, and I'm delighted to hear his views on the top pens. Very interesting and informative. Thank you both!

I really like the way you developed your 3 categories, Yagan! Almost everyone who has been invited to do these videos too liberties in order to get more pens mentioned, but you managed to give a rationale for the 2 pens in each category, and I know that so many of us really can relate to the fact that pens can be our favorite writers (especially most used), but we can be blown away by the beauty of brown Arco celluloid (I can only lament I did not get into fountain pens until Omas was out of business; no one else has quite replicated the Arco Rod Stock they owned. (I have managed to find a pen that used some that stock, but I have not paid over $1, 000 for any pen I own! Last, I am constantly trying to figure out the best pen to gift to others, especially new by users. If I really like the person enough to step up to the still bargained price of the Twisbi Eco (over a Chinese pen), I would agree with your choice. I just recently used a Twisbi Econ (owned for only a couple of months), and I was very impressed at the way the Eco felt as a writer and at the sight of a favorite ink sloshing around. GREAT VIDEO!

Fantastic. A fun watch. Thanks for sharing. The pen I would recommend to new users and also, as a great bang for buck, reliable writer for even seasoned users, would be the TWSBI Eco. I think it a great pen.

While I definitely appreciate the beauty of the Sailor pro, I will never own one. I do love the Sailor lower price lines very much. I might spring for a gold nib, but not for awhile. Just don’t write enough to justify the expense now. Just love you, though. Gorgeous ginger Australian 💓💗💖
