This is a wonderfully different point of view than typical. As someone who draws with fountain pens, it is particularly useful to me personally. I definitely will try using my Noodler's Nib Creaper as a dip pen.

How great! Love the change of focus from the pen toward the ink. I, too, often just dip a pen in ink while at my desk rather than filling it. The ink in almost any feed is enough to write a page or so.
