Familia mea s-a mutat în Canada în 1999. Țara s-a schimbat atât de mult (în rău) încât plănuiesc să mă mut înapoi.

The thing with the 1% works only for firms with min. 1 person employed at your firm that means you gonna pay a 45% tax on your salarie there's also a other version were you pay 16% on your profits but your not obligated to have Employee and than you can use the dividend tax of 8%

God bless Romania, I really feel Romanian! Romanian PPP per capita has surpassed in previous year Spain, Czech Republic and Poland, and has put even bigger gap than Estonia's. Romania now has 1, 2 million IT engineers, it's huge, 2nd per capita as number after Israel (mostly from Israel are American Jews though). This country is giving us great opportunities, I returned here after studying abroad!!! PS. God bless Romania and its friends!

Your first reason is false. The 1% income tax applies only if you have one employee, which you have to pay with at least the minimal salary, on which you have to pay taxes, health insurance and pension contributions. Argument 2 is also false. The cost of living in the city has more than tripled since the early 2000. So, for example, if you work remotely for a company in Switzerland and payed as if you live there, than yes, you are correct, the cost of living is low. But if you live and work in Romania, with a Romanian salary, the cost of living is pretty high. Please keep in mind that the minimum wage in Romania is about 400 EUR (after taxes).
Romania is not a tax heaven, but it's also not a bad place to live in. If you can deal with the bureaucracy and bad government in general, then yes... Come here :)

FYI - your IG link is not working. Aside from that, we're looking to move to Romania in July, 2027, once our kids are out of high school. My wife is a Romanian citizen. Next year we are forming a real estate investment & development company for Romania. I have clients here in the state who are interested in investing in Romania. (I am a real estate broker and investor.) We are headed back to Romania in March, specifically to the Brasov area.

You should move here only if you're a middle-class Westerner. For you it may be great. For the people here, especially young people, it's still awful. Hence why so many people leave.

1:05 Wages have barely kept up with inflation. And no, leaving home almost exclusively DOESN'T affect only rural areas. With the exception of Bucharest, Cluj, Timisoara or Sibiu, young people everywhere are leaving, ESPECIALLY from cities. I can't tell if you lie on purpose or you're just clueless.

Ceausescu didn’t rob Romania. Actually he built Romania. The leaders after him completely robbed Romania.

Low taxes? People on minimum wage pay over 40% in taxes! Compare that to the UK, where you can earn up to £12, 750 per year tax free. Romania is far from being a country where you don’t get fked by taxes. It’s my home country, so I can talk about it with confidence.

This is simply put just BS. The taxes in Romania are among the highest in the EU, more than 40% of your salary is taxes for normal employment contracts which is what about 95% of people have. The cost of living is almost as in any developed EU state, most foods are more expensive than in Italy, France or Germany. The internet part is true at least, you pay less than 10€/month for 1GB of speed.
