I love that the US understands the value of a nurse. The UK nurses are severely underpaid! I feel terrible for them

Thanks for reminding me why I'm still awake at 1am studying. One day it will be worth it 😭

Dont do it just for the pay though! A lot of my friends and family are nurses and it’s such a draining career if you don’t having that passion for caring for others.

Being a nurse in the US seems like a great job (high salary and 4 days a week off), I’m from central Europe and nurses here are underpaid af and it’s not considered as a prestigious job

My mom was on call as a personal nurse for a Saudian Princess. A FREAKING ROYALTY. She got paid twice her salary (which is already a lot) and she got to ride luxury cars (because she has to be with the princess most of the time) and her stories during that time were immaculate. The princess has taken a liking to her and wanted her to work more in the palace but my mom preferred to work in a hospital. But the experience was exemplary!!

These videos crack me up, glamorizing the profession, honestly its tough work, not an easy pay check. Youre always short staffed, dealing with patients who are upset or even patients trying to hurt you. 3 days a week seems fun but can be exhausting. Plus pay isnt all that amazing, California pays well but cost of living out here is insane

I'm joining nursing college on September. Future nurse here.
Wish me luck.

I’m being a nurse because I want to help people . Start nursing school in September . It isn’t about the money for me or travelling . It’s about being a light in this world and the light at the end of the tunnel for many people

Honestly, as a nurse. I both love my job and hate my job. That in mind, I can't imagine myself doing anything else. Three days of working, serious money, and an adrenaline kick are addicting!

If I could go back in time and tell myself not to do it, I would. The understaffing is awful, I’m constantly in danger of making mistakes, I feel abused and pulled in multiple directions. Management is a whole other story.

I am a doctor in making and my mother is a NURSE and I just love this job. Along with being a medical server comes a great responsibility of love and affection that you pour to the people in world.

Hospitals treat you like crap, patients treat you like a servant, and no one respects your experience or the sacrifices you’ve made to do the job.

Its satisfying to make a difference in the lives of others. I enjoy it everyday. And the best part is being able to hit the pillow at night with no regrets. 👩‍⚕️

For all the individuals who say nursing is stressful and not worth it, tell me what job isn’t stressful and a walk in the park. You’re dealing with people’s lives. There are so many different roles and opportunities for nurses; go explore some of them.

And for those who are comparing nursing to working as a fast food employee, I would hope that my ability to start an IV on the first try is appreciated more than a flimsy burger and soggy fries.

The schedule and money is cool but you gotta have the heart for it. I work with lots of nurses who obviously just do it for the paycheck. Such a bummer. 7 year nurse here.

I love that you're actually looking at the positives and sharing them! im doing my prerequisites for nursing and ever since, nurses always feel the need to be discouraging and try to talk you out of it. I recognize that it may be difficult a majority of the time but damnn would it be good to also hear at least some positive moments or encouragement once in a while.

I’m in school for nursing right now. I’m planning on getting my cna and working at the hospital because working 3 days a week for 12 hours sounds better then 5 days a week lol. Especially with having classes lol.
