Manitoba! Are you thinking of possibly moving to Winnipeg, Brandon, or somewhere else in Manitoba? Look no further than this video where I detail 5 Reasons why NOT to make the move to the province of Manitoba. This list is not one-sized fits all. Everyone has their own personal opinions on the matters I go over. Manitoba is certainly a province that has a lot to offer, and is by no means a bad place to live. These are simply things you should be aware of so you can make your own decisions. Moving to Manitoba could be a very smart decision for you if it is the right fit!

What do you think of Manitoba? Would you move here? If not, how come? Be sure to continue the conversation in the comments section!

As always, consider giving the video a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel! Thank you all so much for watching.

Good job especially when you tell people to be careful and to balance pros and cons. However to talk about Manitoba one should be able to explore most of the province. It's been 1.5 years since I moved to Winnipeg in 2022. Some Manitobans say I explored the province more than many Manitobans did in their whole life. They say Manitoba is boring. I say the opposite. It's a hidden gem. There's so much to do. You just need to do a proper research, google a lot, be ready to drive, go camping, stay in cottages, hotels, motels, resorts, hike, go to food festivals, go to music festivals, go to arts festivals, ... I lived in 4 provinces in Canada and Manitoba is my favourite.

As a manitoban, everyone complaining about the weather is a wimp

34 years ago in Brazil I met a Canadian jeweler from Manitoba who had immigrated to Rio de
Janeiro.
I was very young and my head was full of dreams, so, I left him and went to the other side of the planet and never went back to Brazil.
He was an amazing gentleman and must be around 76 years old now.
Every time I hear the word Canada I think about him, I hope he’s alive and well.

I live in Winnipeg, and due to political correct policies I need to speak in code. The reason we have a high crime rate in Winnipeg, Regina, and Thunder Bay is simple. These three cities have a very high percentage of people from up North living in them. Northerners have a disproportionately high number of people in our prisons, and our leaders are afraid to deal with it. The political correctness policy in our court system prevents deterrents to all the violence in our city. We are frustrated by this, but powerless to fix it. We have a catch and release policy here, and it almost seems that our court system believes that their "Hug a Thug" policy will fix it. It's not working for us.

Manitoba definitely isn't for the weak. Most people aren't tough enough.

I grew up in Brandon, it was a great place to live. School was always walking distance and sometimes my place of work was too. Manitoba isn't on the scale of many other provinces but definitely has its own charms. I grew up with outdoor rinks, ice fishing, tobaganing on the north hill and summer trips to clear lake. Winter was rough but there is so much to do. The extreme cold brings mostly sunny days in winter months so dress for it and get outside.

I hunted geese, ducks, deer in the fall and enjoyed many fishing trips to the Assiniboine river.

It's easier to own a home.

Like anywhere else it's what you make of it. Canada has a lot to offer and when it comes to any province I don't believe there's a bum in the lot.

Born and raised in Winnipeg and never would I consider it to be hot and humid. It is definitely DRY and a few days of extreme heat. You want to talk about hot and humid try living in Toronto. Horribly hot!!!

I used to live in Thompson 20 years ago, sadly Thompson is slowly going to pot. I like the region near Dauphin and the interlake region.

Manitoba is not known for for heavy snowfall. Cold yes, heavy snowfall only happens in short duration very infrequently. Primarily heavy snowfall only happens when a “clipper” from the west or low pressure system from the south west moves through, five to seven times a winter on average, this year only once so far.

There's Winnipeg and Brandon and everything else is either rural or northern. And that's it. After six years had to move because Manitobans are way behind other provinces.

The infrastructure of the province is in absolute decay. The police don't have enough units to keep you from getting shanked by roaming gangs of teens; but will commit air and ground assets to pursuit of a motorcycle pulling wheelies on the perimeter highway

Except for the crime stats, which is a stat that's often twisted for good (it's all in-fighting) and for bad (holy cow, Every Winnipeger must have been shot at least once with stats that high), all of this this - mosquitos, internet access, the weather, could apply to anywhere in Canada. Manitoba might get cold but it doesn't blizzard when it's cold. The east gets way more snow than Manitoba. And that opening shot, where did you get that overly distressed apocalyptic picture? I work there, my building is front and center, and it doesn't look like that!

My great grandfather Vasyl Ksionzyk moved from rural Ukraine to Manitoba in 1896. For a $10 registration fee he got 160 acres of land outside of Dauphin. A few of his great grandchildren still live in Manitoba. But I'm not one of them.
