Frank Herbert's legendary 1965 science fiction novel "Dune" has been adapted for the screen a few times, but many fans believe that those adaptations fall short of the sprawling grandeur of the book. So it may be an understatement that fans have a lot of hope for the 2021 "Dune" adaptation directed by Denis Villeneuve.

We don't know if the movie lives up to the hype, but we do know a few things: The cast and crew are stellar, there are big plans for future installments, and delays have only built up anticipation. Before you see the picture, here's the full picture. Watch this before "Dune" comes out.

Movie was beautifully made. I was lost in this world wanting to know more. Really hope we don’t have to wait very long to get a part 2

I just hope that the entire necessary cast will be available for Part 2 and that we get no sudden replacements. Warner Brothers should have learned from Peter Jackson, that to make a two or three part epic really seamless, they need to be filmed back-to-back.

Watched the movie last night on HBOMAX, I absolutely loved this movie. As someone who is hearing impaired being able to watch this at home on my big screen was a treat in itself.
I’ll probably watch this several times. I enjoyed it immensely!! truly hope they make several more with same director his visual storytelling of Dune is perfect!

I can't stress how important it is to watch this for the first time in theaters.

Oh man! It is so good. FInally, a film with substance. A new favorite of mine to be included in my very short list of must-see sci-fi films. Bravo!

My older brother, eddie, forced me to read the first Dune when I was around 9 years old. It was so much bigger than I was, mentally, and after about a hundred pages or so it really picked up. It changed the way I thought about everything. I thank him for doing that. He used to make me read a lot of the old sci-fi before I was really emotionally mature LOL. He made me a deep thinker, because I understood some of the psychology behind what was going on in these books and I had never thought like that before. And many of the questions were so big that I would ponder, that I changed forever. Not only that, these books have characters who are so deep that when you envision yourself as them it changes you forever as well.

Villeneuve should not worry about HBO MAX, Dune is the only film that can get me into a theater. Then to watch it again on Max.

Seen it 3 times. Might go back for more! The first viewing was like a slap to the face the likes of which I haven't experienced since I first saw the original Blade Runner...

I'm glad this is being offered via streaming services. Movie theatres are still closed in my country, so I do not have the privilege to watch on the big screen.

So, now that I've seen the movie - IT'S GREAT! Highly recommended!
For those who've read the book, it finishes at the point where Paul & Jessica join the Fremen, just after the duel scene, which is a pretty logical decision.

I've always been of the opinion that Dune needed to be an HBO (or other streaming service) series akin to Game of Thrones. There is WAY too much story to adapt as a movie, even a two part movie. That said, Villeneuve's version was about as good as possible given the time limitations he has to work with

I agree this is the type of "big spectacle" movie that needs a theater, & hopefully people see it in the theater.

I like most of what I've seen, but I'm a little nervous about the potential portrayal of the "weirdning way". In the books it's almost a Martial Art, a type of physical ability that gives a person full mastery over self. This can be extremely hard to portray to audiences, if it's not fully explained. Especially since Paul eventually trains the Fremin in this art. The Lynch movie made it both a physical art, but included "modules" that could amplify the ability of sound the art could produce. That way it was simple for the audience to follow. Not saying the Lynch movie followed the book at all, but the addition of a "device" to amplify power was quite a good plot addition. I only hope this director thought of a good presentation for something so central to the plot

This version of Dune seems enigmatic yet more enriching cinematically and pace of story as opposed to the David Lynch version of Dune. However, I still miss the flamboyance of David Lynch's Dune characters.

Can't wait to see it in the big screen, l saw David Lynch' version in the theater and l read the book also. It's a whole new universe to explore and new and talented actors bringing life to these characters.

When Paul enters the Emperor's chambers @ 7:20 I hear the Freemen in my head automatically. It's like a reflex. "Muad'Dib!"

I read Dune when I was 13 47 years ago and loved it. Extremely excited about the new movie. I hope they do the book justice this time.
