Thanks for the update! I hope that in the future it's more obvious when something is "preview - gold in 12mo" or "preview - gold no idea when". I think this is really a communication issue where Unity marketing want to make the technology sound further along than it is.

My game is 18mo away and I think DOTS might help my pipe sections but I don't know if I can trust it for sure yet. That's quite annoying.

A software which splits the systems so harshly is not gonna cut it in AAA ever for several reasons, firstly.. they did alot of changes and did not update their doc properly yet, some things are just poorly one-line described :)
For example, I want to use the deffered decal and atlas workflow, which is only possible in HDRP, while HDRP doesnt allow you to have custom skybox anymore, everything procedurally generated, so for me as an environment artist who wants to make a portfolio work with a scene which is playing in space, I HAVE TO learn how to make procedural generated sky, what if I wanna use my 6 textures? Exactly, you cannot.
I think unity is not being taken seriously because they are trying to do everything at once, while leaving the software actually pretty empty. Surely there are good things in it, but by far far far away from big indie studios.
Thats being said, it is possible to make it indie friendly AND work as intended, they just need to get to know the industry standards a bit more. For now, Ill have to learn UE4 if I wanna use dbuffer + atlas flow and have the skybox not being generated.. Im not a coder, Im an artist.
Sad times, feels like its made by Microsoft :) Specially the bad documentation

I wish they would finally allow us to choose audio output device and would make logo less intrusive. It's this obnoxious logo is what gave Unity it's shitty reputation. After all only big, quality projects have a proper license, that allows devs to hide the logo.
