If you're reading this, your interview is probably tomorrow morning so here's another tip: Watch several of this guy's videos at 1.5x speed. It's still easy to understand and you can cram in even more videos before the interview.

1. start w confidence, 1st 30seconds, smile & strong handshake
2. sit up right, keep eye contact

3. if they ask for drink, ask for water, it ll give ur hands smth to do

& it gives u thinking time

4. ur answers should reflect y u can help the new company, positive spin

5. story w examples that come to life

6. USP = Unique Selling Point

7. learn key phrases, but not super memorised

8. if not in (near)native language, use nuance ("rather" than "a bit")

if interviewer is not language teacher, don t worry about grammar

bc u ve been invited to the interview, while they know u re not a native

As an employability trainer for a training organisation, these tips are useful, but I'd add: don't answer the questions like you've learned the answers. Show a bit of personality and try to turn what might feel like an interrogation (hint: interviews aren't an interrogation, that's nerves playing tricks) in to a slightly more relaxed chat about you and the company you're applying for. You're interviewer wants to know that you're the type of person who gets along with people and will gel with a team...

I am a hiring manager at a pediatric hospital in a very specialized field, Flow Cytometry. I appreciated your tips and found them to be good solid advice. I have interviewed many candidates over the last couple of years and have been surprised at some of the basics that get overlooked. I always offer water and it is more frequently declined. The fidgeting and negative talk are both really distracting. Your advice about selling oneself is important. I think candidates forget that we are often interviewing multiple candidates who not only have the same education, but have the same number of years of experience. It becomes even more critical to tells us why should we hire you, what do you bring to the table that sets you apart from the other candidates. It doesn’t always have to be a specific accomplishment either, it could be something as simple as a “can do attitude “ and the willingness to try something different that might set you apart from another candidate. The suggestion to connect on a personal level, could be the thing that gets your name remembered in the candidate review process.

One tip I would say to all who had an interview, SEND A THANK YOU EMAIL, if you have the hiring manager email of course (he could send you an email confirming the interview before it happened), don’t dig searching for the email if you don’t have it, you could send a voicemail to.

I had my job interview on tuesday, I send my thank you email (not a template, just get ideas but never use one) on thursday about 10 am, and I got a call about 12 pm from the hiring manager offering me an employment offer, I didn’t hesitate and I accepted it :)!

I will start my job on Monday as a C# developer! Foreign english speaker writing here (I’m sure I did some speaking errors in my interview btw).

Woah!! I got the job after practicing all the things that you mentioned! Usually they ask for a test before hiring someone but they told me that they were confident about my professionalism after talking with me. They even took the time to tell me that they were really impressed by all of my answers.

Thank you very very very much, specially for all the language hacks. English is not my native language, so I was nervous for that. Thank you and I wish you the best in everything !
