Working on construction sites in the Gulf area, I have noticed labourers in general had fresh onions and wholemeal tandoori bread as a staple . Their strength and stamina was truly remarkable even in the extremely oppressive weather conditions.

Onion seeds, called the black seed or the blessed seed in Arabic, are almost a panacea and could put big pharma out of business if well publicized 😅

Quite a few yrs ago a trusted friend kept on asking me "Why do I keep fancying onions ? What are they good for ? I never knew the answer, Ha, Now I do, probably worth getting in touch, she was great, I met her when she fell in a puddle in the road, I took her in & warmed her up..Later that yr, she took me on holiday as she 'd successfully sued the local authority 4 leaving a hole in the middle of road...Anyway the thing is since her fall, twisting her ankle, she got the onset of Rheaumatoid Arthritis, so perhaps her Onion craving was really her body calling out 4 some Onions, as it knew their healing ability...Anyway now I know all about Onions I'll endeavour to help anyone who falls in a hole and be sure to tell 'em "get some onion soup down you " & keep your bones happy !! X❤X

In rural areas of North I have seen since my childhood memories people engaged in farming and doing hard mannual work especially Labourers they eat raw onion and chapatis in their lunch time alongwith raw carrots, Radish and green chillies whenever these items are available as per the season, but Onion is a must every day.Onions are wonderful vegetarian food loaded with lots of health benefits.

Have an onion? You have a meal.... just add to anything else you've got, such as meat, tomato, peppers, potato, eggs (omlette), greens, you name it... if you run out of onions your taste buds are going to be dissapointed. But with an onion on the counter you are good to go.
