I completely understand what Mr. Lowe said about being born feeling empty. I'm the same way, and it's funny I grew up thinking the same thing as him. I thought my art would set me free and help fill the void. After my dad died I went into a tailspin with alcohol and ruined my life at the time.

I never "made" it but I know that if I had it wouldn't of fixed me. Hope he isn't empty anymore.

the whole drugs/alcohol/feeling empty issue is such a conundrum sometimes.Because not drinking and not taking any drugs isn't always the answer.

He actually sounds like he might have ADHD. The 'feeling empty' leading you to constantly look for stimulation, plus the constantly losing things. It sounds typical of ADHD and I can totally relate to it.

I'm totally different. The problem with me is that I love feeling empty. It feels horrible but I feel satisfied when I'm down, it's like I feel no guilt and it's beautiful. Lol I'm not crazy or weird btw

I better do what you did and go into treatment too Mt. Lowe. It’s time and I’m scared of failure. I can resume my responsibilities after detoxed and stabilized in recovery. Health is #1. We do recover. 🤦🏻‍♂️😞😢❤️ -TC

I sympathize with Rob but at the same time, realize that when you make music or art or write, at the end of the day you need to be able to smile at what you've created and know that it is enough. Your wonderful mind has created something out of nothing and that is a huge accomplishment in itself.

That is some thinking or introspective thinking by Lowe. Not only does it apply to artists, musicians, and actors, but it also applies to common people as well!!!
