First, I am a car collector. Excellent Review!
Always loved corvettes as my first one was a 1962 C1. I purchased it way back in 1978. Still own it today, along with 6 other vettes, C2, C3, C4, C6, and my favorite, which is a C7 2019 ZR1 Coupe with the 3ZR trim package. I do own a 2022 C8 Z51 package with endless upgrades. I also was on the list at the same dealer for a Z06. After 18 months of no movement, I lost interest. So, I decided to treat myself to an upgrade instead. Just recently took delivery of my 2024 Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato Coupe AWD. It has 631 hp 5.2 V10. It is mind-blowing to say the leadt. Yes, the price sticker was twice as much as the Z06, but they are also not apples for apples! The Lambo is far superior. It's GM's loss!
I am more than satisfied with the 22 C8 Z51 at a price point all in at $109, 000k. I give GM credit for finally making the mid-engine. It was an 8 month wait for the 22' C8. 12k miles, no issues! I just don't agree with the approach that GM continued with post covid. I just can't wrap my head around C8 allocations and how the Z06 ate into the overall C8 allocations.
My wife will just have to settle with her 2022 Ferrari F488 Pista. She's happy, so I am thrilled. The other perk is that she's hotter than her car! Enjoy your rides!

I was stunned watching a promotion video for a 2024 Corvette Z06 which does sound different for the different modes of driving.
For that aspect it makes it a unique Sports Car instead of a dime a dozen Sports Car that has same sounds when started, also driving the car.

I love it when people say it was always an old man’s car. Too bad most of these people that say negative things about Corvette are too young to realize that it was the best all-around sports car you could get in the United States for a long time without paying Five times the price with no dealer network to speak of. So obviously when we were kids, we had one poster of a Ferrari, one poster of Farrah Fawcett then Christie Brinkley and a poster of the latest Corvette. So yeah, I guess you can say it’s a car for an old guy or better yet it’s a discount supercar with a dealer network that may actually work on your car in a timely basis for less than a new house. Do yourself a favor. Go drive one with the performance add-ons then tell me the car is not worth the money. Yes all cars will break now I don’t care who you buy them from. They are all designed that way. Way too many plastic and unnecessary Solutions to problems that didn’t exist. Just my two Cents.

What stands out about the Corvette Z06 is it sounds like a Ferrari because it uses a flat crank engine except the main advantage it’s a stunning Sports car that is made to be driven every day, also easy to get any needed parts in the United States because it’s an American Sports Car.

It used to be an old mans car.. Like most people who used to buy Vett's were over 50, Or 50ish.. Now the people I see at the Vett dealer's are like 66, and 75 years old. These are the price of a house to me.. I would never be able to buy one of these.. Who remembers back when Vett's were like 40K/50K for ZR1's??

I would pull the trunk carpet and fit a space blanket in behind to help reject the engine heat or dyna mat it..insulate it
