Ford GT v Corvette Z06: DRAG RACE

It's another all-American DRAG RACE! 🇺🇸

This time we have the new and mighty Corvette Z06 going up against the fantastic Ford GT.

Let's get into the stats. The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 uses a 5.5 litre naturally aspirated flat-plane crank V8 that puts out 670HP and 625NM of torque. Power goes to the rear wheels only via an 8-speed Dual Clutch gearbox and it weighs in 1,585KG.

The Ford GT is fitted with a twin-turbo 3.5L V6 that outputs 650HP and 750NM of torque. Power again goes to the rear wheels only via a 7-speed Dual Clutch gearbox and it weighs in at just 1,385KG!

So will the newer and much cheaper Z06 take the win or will the mighty Ford GT prove its worth and put the Corvette in its place? LET'S RACE and FIND OUT!!! 🏁

I’m surprised the GT wasn’t in V Max mode drops the wing down to its lowered position and reduces the drag for drag racing it would have pulled even harder! I have so much love for both of these pieces of art though

I'm a GM/ Corvette guy through and through, I love the look of the new Corvette Z06. But the 3rd gen Ford GT is absolutely gorgeous.

I met Camilo at the USGP in 2007. He was hanging out before the race at the house where we parked. Cool guy. He was lying in the grass taking a nap and then came over and showed us around his GT. That one was signed by Carroll Shelby.

Kudos!!…Two amazing cars to drag Corvette just rolled out a new 2025 ZR1 with 1006 HP and a ZTK package with 1068 HP….The 2023 Ford GT MK IV still has V6 Twin-turbo with 800 HP

I think it was more driver error than turbo lag. But either way for like 400k difference I’d say the zo6 is probably the better bang for your buck

Years back in high school I met Camilo briefly when he took a ford gt to our highshool down in the RGV. One of my favorite cars of all time.

Camilo was an art major that specialized in automotive design, he’s never bragged about being a race car driver or mechanic. So yeah, kind of bad look for them to put him in this position even after examining him knowing he wouldn’t be the best driver or person to express and explain the vehicle mechanically.

Honestly the Z06 is impressive factoring the price difference between both cars. Great job Chevy and this GT looks dope
