you have a flow issue on the row machine hun, its a 3 step movement. legs straight, lean back and engage core then pull handle back then lean back up and go back to start position, much more effective on your core (like crunches).

Also if using the row machine and you end up with achy hips or lower back then unstrap your feet!! you will be amazed how much you rely on them to row, loose the straps and use your core to row not using your feet for leverage and not having the footstraps actually encourages better posture while rowing and better technique to avoid joint pain and discomfort 😊
