I’m really getting into this iPad lifestyle!

This week I took it out with me and spent the day with it which showed me a whole new dimension to it.

This 13-inch M4 iPad Pro is a complete content creation device - something that the Mac can never be - and why is that? It’s because of those rear-facing cameras.

We often overlook how good they are - in this video, I chat about them quite a bit, I discuss if macOS should ever come to the iPad and also look ahead to what is coming our way in iPadOS 18 later this summer.

My friend got his new ipad pro 2024 and he says it’s so thin that he trims his beard with it.

Yes the iPad Pro detects your eyes. If you turn your attention away for some time it dims down to save power, but moment you turn back to look at the iPad it returns to the original brightness.

I am amazed at the battery life. I start with 100% at 8am and at 9pm I'm down to 70% and that is continued use, writing, web searching, video playing, movies and work related stuff . It holds up good as far as I can tell.

It's great to see more videos talking about the versatility and enjoyment to be found in every day use cases, rather than the endless spec comparisons.

I reach for my 13 inch iPad Pro whenever possible during the day and only switch back to a 16 inch Macbook pro and studio display setup when my work absolutely demands intense periods at the desk with a larger screen. I've actually found it's improved my productivity and sense of wellbeing to switch between products and modes of intensity in this way.

In the 80s and 90s we grew up with separate devices for music, television, gaming and the earliest PCs were geared exclusively towards students and professionals. I always thought these distinctions enabled us to organise our time and focus better, so I've never wanted one machine to do it all and always feel obliged to carry it around. Apple gets this by aligning quite a complex product lineup to overlap just enough without everything trying to be the swiss army knife for every consumer.

Most tech is so advanced now that specs don't matter as much as they used to. The best devices aren't the most feature rich, cost effective and powerful. Instead, they're the ones that enhance our ability to do what we need to do, and enjoy the things that help us unwind and stay connected. The iPad Pro in particular does 90% of these things better than every other device (and also happens to have tremendous specs for those who really care about that).

I found the old keyboard case from apple doesn't hold up fantastic over time unfortunately but it's so convenient it's hard to think of an alternative.

Bought the spigen accessory for the pencil and added two sided adhesive to keep it in place. I put dbrand’s swarm on the keyboard and the iPad. Perfect.

For myself, I have 100% decided that I will soon buy the 13-inch pro version with a nano-screen, the 1TB version - except what color to choose, light or dark. Your presentation of the material is very pleasant. It’s still great that you summed up your impressions of the new iPad.

I had a play with the nano texture in an Apple shop and it totally surprised me in ways no one has discussed on YouTube. Your finger glides effortlessly when scrolling with no friction or smearing and the screen almost feels like a kindle with the lack of reflections.

Yeah it dims the display when you're not looking at it, probably to avoid burn in and also save battery life. It's kind of weird but I think it's a smart move and doesn't get in the way.

I love your channel, David. I have found that a quick solution to the fingerprint issue on the outside of the Magic Keyboard case, is to use a fiber-cloth. I generally do a quick wipe-down frequently. I too, have my 13” iPad M4 in my Magic Keyboard case well.

David great video thank you. I got the same configuration. I went with Dbrand skin for the keyboard works wonders and it does not make it look cheap either..
