Actually it was only last week when it was announced that the remains of a large wooden object were found at Troy and that it was immediately hoped to be the horse. It's not really proven what it was yet. Could also have been a pile of timber next to a carpenters workshop.

How did Machu Picchu not make this list? Dating profiles wouldn't be the same today without it.

Hmmm, no mention of Tikal, Palenque or Macchu Picchu? I realise this is subjective, but still...
Btw, the high part of Knossos (at 7:48) are modern reconstructions, to give you an idea of what it once looked like.

Actually the majority of 1860s-1880s archaeologists, historians and scholars thought Troy was a completely fictional city, and Heinrich Schliemann’s dig and studies in Hissarlik mound were ridiculed and dismissed by many for a long time - it didn’t help that his discovery happened entirely by accident. It took several years and some incontrovertible artefact evidence for Hissarlik to be unanimously accepted as Homer’s Troy.

I want to see the Lost City of Zed found. It would be great if Percy Fawcett was finally proven right. Maybe we could even get closure about his fate.

@Watchmojo please consider to normalize your audio better, because everytime I watch your video's I have to pump up my volume way up because it's to quiet, especially the voice over parts. Other than that you're video's are great!

Knossos wasn’t actually destroyed by the eruption of Thera but it was heavily damaged by the eruption, it was lost a few decades later after the region was conquered by the Greeks
