My theory is that the Wraith encountered Asgard beaming technology during the war with the Lanteans ten thousand years ago (most likely during their clashes with the renegade Vanir faction, when they were destroying the extragalactic visitors' spaceships to prevent them returning home). That's how the Wraith knew how to jam the teleportation but the modern Asgard on board Daedalus didn't know how to overcome the countermeasures.

You know, I always felt the Earth ships were too underpowered in terms of weapons before the Asgard Beam weapons were intalled. They would have been better equipped if they had used the Mk7 guns from the Iowa class Battleships as primary weapons, and the railguns as secondary, and AA guns.

My question, if you can't beam onto the ships, why not next to them? Using horseshoes and hand grenade logic, you'd figure having a nuke exploding within a mile of a hiveship would do some significant damage.

I might have done something different, as others would have. I'd have gotten coordinates for all the ships, beamed all the warheads over with a countdown of say ten seconds, and see what happens. At least I would have gotten more ships blown up.

Personally, I wouldn't go right at them and tried to avoid them as nukes get transported from safer distance but you do you.

Could they not have just transported the nukes to pretty much next to the hulls of the hive ships with an immediate detonation upon rematerialisation?

What always upsetted me about this entire scene was why dont they just beam the nukes out right in front of the ships instead of in. Use them like mines?

If the wraith hive ships didn’t have shields, why wouldn’t they transport the nukes within their formation. The blast would have damaged some of the ships, wouldn’t it? If one bomb did damage, then why not transport multiple nukes among the wraith fleet? If they can jam, just transport the nukes beside them.
