One of the best thing about Stargate was seeing the technological evolution of the Tau'ri. Before the Prometheus was built, we saw the SGC find naquadah and trinium mines on other planets, steal Goa'uld ships to analyze their technology, and even being gifted some components from the Asgard for helping them. Seeing the Prometheus take off for the first time in season 6 was the culmination of a great adventure, and it makes this ship even better.

I still remember how well they did the reveal for the ship. By calling it the X-303, the audience were naturally expecting just something along the lines of a more advanced fighter craft, so the full scale of it when it was finally shown was a real treat.

I really loved how SG1 imagined the Prometheus as very much as a pathfinder design for different acquired technologies. It never really worked like they hoped, but it's evolution in the show laid out a believable path for the USAF to learn from it's flaws and eventually build the Daedalus class.

I love the Prometheus - it really does look and feel like humanity’s first attempt at a bona fide starship. Kudos to the designers!

The introduction of that ship also changed the game in the show dramatically - with Earth no longer just confined to the Stargate network. And they did a great job pacing it's introduction and the eventual successors (which, I am sorry but I must admit, I do *love* the BC-404 design far more, particularly as an evolution on a prototype design) and how they began to change the dynamic of Earth's role in the galaxy and their capabilities. It's a shame they ended when they did, as it felt like the show was beginning to pick up into a place where the Tau'ri would be a major galactic power among several peers and possibly verging on having the gate program go public as increasing numbers of countries began getting their own 304s. I'm also sad we never got to see an F-305 or a BC-306. Maybe someday.

The destruction of the Prometheus is still one of my "favourite" ship destruction scenes. It's so...slow and painful. Just one final beam, secondary explosions, creaking metal, one last look at her commander, silence...and then the big ol' explosion. o7

The BC-304 is one of my favorite starship designs.

Gotta appreciate how each Tau’ri cruiser looks like it’s based on the technology that most influenced its design. The X-303 looked Goa’uld in its blocky and tower oriented structure, the 304’s looked more Asgard in their wide frame and wing like hangar set up. Who knows, maybe the 305 might look Ancient in nature?

Ooooo! As someone who only watched Stargate for the first time last year and watched your old videos on it I was wondering if the 303 would get a new video! Great stuff as always!

The thing that I like about Prometheus was that the show itself admitted that it was kind of meh jack of all trades ship that was mostly just a prototype/technology testing testbed. It was not a warship due to its weak armament and rather vulnerable design and yet was used as one,
It wasn't a carrier due to having very small flight hangars for dozen craft at best with no extra facilities for maintenance, training and housing pilot crews and yet it was used as carrier,
it wasn't a troop transport or drop ship due to lack of internal space, a sense of reentry capsules and rather lacking design of loading compartment and ramps and yet it still had to do.
It wasn't Serenity or Bebop, but it still marked the part in the show where Earth had to improvise and make do and not the part where everybody else opposing USAF starting to roll up dead to their knees be it Goa'uld, Azurans, Replicators, Ancients or Ori.

I love that we see every step of human technology evolving from the SG-1 pilot to the end of SGU. It's rare in scifi for the status quo to be so different over the course of a franchise.

Loved the design and evolution of the BC-303. It looked, and usually functioned, like the prototype it was. Only thing I feel they could have improved on would be the 303 kicking off a process that would lead to the gates becoming public. IMO, the construction of an interstellar battle cruiser, when combined with all the other off world tech, would require too much secrecy from too many people and too many groups to keep it secret. Its even more egregious when they're building multiple 304s and funding expeditions in Pegasus. Any future SG show should have the SGC being made public.

I like the name. The myth is basically a cautionary tale about not crossing the gods but humanity took the myth about the guy being brutally tortured for stealing the gods knowledge for humanity and slapped it on the ship they used to fight the self proclaimed gods like a giant metaphorical middle finger to the goluld

While I think that the _Daedalus_ is a much sexier design, I have a special place in my heart for the _Prometheus_. And the shot of it swooping in over Antarctica leading a wing of F-302s is probably the most triumphant moment in the entire franchise.

Still feel like one of the 304s should have been named Pendergast to honour the commander of the Prometheus.

The X-303 is one of my favourite ships in Stargate (apart from the Ha'tak). Hopefully it will appear on the Hero website so I can buy it.

I truely adore the Prometheus. It's blocky but sleek at the same time. It looks like a spaceship. It looks cobbled together. The design team that created her did a fantastic job. I honestly cried when she was destroyed
