I have two trucks I purchased used; a 2013 Jeep Wrangler and a 2013 Toyota Tacoma, one in 2017 and the other in 2019. Never had an issue with either one, except a gasket leak on the Jeep about 2 years after a bought it. Both have over 200, 000 miles on and no other issues other than regular maintenance such as new tires and brakes.

Toyota and the related family of products are a special case. Most other brands, besides Honda, will break down and wont retain much of their sticker price. Some people had new Porsche Cayenne's with break downs before even 3 years of ownership.

You could buy a new hybrid Camry for about $31K and drive it a few years and it will still be worth $25K. Not bad for driving a new car with no maintenance needed at all besides oil changes.

There's a 100% chance all of those numbers are incorrect

You’re only paying 30k on the new car if you are buying it cash. And you will for sure have to do maintenance on it

That 30k car is 18-20 the minute you drive it off the lot not 5 years later 😂🤣😂

Very bad logic. You are missing the opportunity cost for 20k and also no maintenance for 10 years ?

WTF?? I’ve never had a used car that cost $2k in maintenance and breakdowns EVERY YEAR.
