Hey brother, I'm a cabinet maker professionally. So I was just gonna point out a couple things. Use them if you like, it's your house. I just thought it might make it a little easier on you. On your lower cabinets the 1/4" back with the 3/4" plywood to fasten them to the wall is perfect. So nice work, however on your upper cabinets. All you need is a solid 1/2" plywood back, on those and then you can screw through the back into the 3/4" sides and shelves to attach the back. It's also much easier to install your drawer slides in the shop. Because you can lay the cabinets on there side while you install them. I'd recommend a solid 1/2" back on the pantry as well. Probably too late, but your future self will thank you if you prime the drywall behind the cabinets. Helps prevent the drywall absorbing moisture and odurs.

Nice build. Kitchen designer here. TLDR: 3K for cabinets with this quality of construction is really good but it would be difficult for a novice or even beginner woodworker to pull off. Diamond Now is no longer sold at Lowe's (they moved to Project Source), but when it was they had white, grey, and a rustic hickory cabinet. They were also made of 1/2" particle board. Lowe's offers a Plywood cabinet with soft close doors and drawers that usually comes in in a couple of days (Reliabuilt) but only comes in white or espresso for color and shaker for style. That cost would be closer to 6, 000-8, 000 for a kitchen this size. Diamond Express is not available at all Lowes yet but has more colors and door styles and is an intermediate step between the cabinets in stock at the store and warehouse and the next step up. The next step up would be something semi-custom which could be as much as 10, 000-30, 000 for a kitchen this size depending on the customizations you want to make, the color, the door style, and brand you choose. TLDR: 3K for cabinets with this quality of construction is really good but it would be difficult for a novice or even beginner woodworker to pull off.

Thats why you put blocking in when framing. should also put blocking in for towel bars in bathroom, toilet paper holder or anything else that you planning on putting into or onto the wall ahead of time.

A Blind corner cabinet would have done magic for that corners honestly. Would give you a good amount extra space. Though tbf on the back side of the breakfast bench you could put a sweep cupboard.

The difference between buying and building for me is that you get to build to your needs and not what they create for the "average" person. Each home is different. The colour came out beautiful.

My kitchen has a couple of traditional dead spaces, however, the previous homeowner, extended the cabinets into those dead spaces. Yes, it is difficult to get to those spots, but they're perfect storage locations for those odd ball appliances that get used a handful of times throughout the year

For that corner cab, missed opportunity to have a swing out shelf system.

Also you just build a double wide cab and blank off one side with the cab that butts into it.

Also also euro frameless and adjustable height legs are the way to go now. Much faster for production and easier adjustment at install time.

Gotta plan ahead. Before you did the drywall, you could have added all the blocking for the cabinets.

I'm in the middle of a bathroom remodel and what I have learned from this video is to make sure I put lots of blocking in the walls so I don't have to worry about hitting studs when putting in my cabinets.
