Getting 5 Stars...WITHOUT SPENDING BELLS (Animal Crossing New Horizons)

5 stars in ACNH is a grind in itself. Doing it without ever spending Bells (with one exception) is another level of tedium that only the real masochists would delve to. SO that's why it's perfect for me!

I love the fact that you can get 5 stars without spending anything, but I can't get 4 stars with 2 million bells.

One time isabelle told me that I needed more fencing, so I took all my fencing down and counted them. I had 817 pieces of fencing. EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTEEN PIECES OF FENCING. 🙃

This man got 5 stars without spending a single unnecessary bell, meanwhile my island has been stuck on 4 stars for a year now.

I will try to explain what Isabelle says when she gives these statements:

"Lacking appealing scenery" it means that you don't have enough furniture decorated your island and you don't have enough fencing. Do this make sure you put a lot of furniture all over the island and have more fencing usually I just use fences to make big gardens.

"Landscape has potential" it means that you need to have variety of trees planted (Saplings, Cedar Saplings, Fruit Trees) and a lot and I mean A LOT of flowers planted on the island. This one is hardest one because you really need to plant so many flowers just so that Isabelle is more satisficed and the rating should go up.

It is confusing sometimes and just thought I would clear this up for when Isabelle is a bit harsh on your rating so I hope this helps out.

Here are tips on how to get a 5 star island for those still struggling:

1. Have 8 Villagers living on your island
2. Have variety of trees planted (Saplings, Cedar Saplings, and Fruit Trees)
3. Have Plenty of flowers planted (seriously Isabelle really wants you to plant to many flowers)
4. Decorate your entire island with Furniture items (I recommend the Floor Light and Streetlamps)
5. Have a lot of fencing around the island (use them for making large flower gardens and fence off your beaches)

I had a 5 star island and didn't even realize it, just one day noticed the Lilies of the Valleys growing, and I was so happy! I thought I had a lot more work to do.

I JUST finished completely decorating my island top to bottom today and checked the rating only to have 4 stars because I have too many Thanks a lot tropicore/junglecore. My island do be kinda sick tho and I don't have to worry about the lily of the valley littering my island

So from what I tested on my 2nd island, it is possible to have only 6 villagers living on your island and you get a 4 star rating if you do enough decorating on your island (making sure you decorate the entire island), planting so many flowers and having variety of trees (Saplings, Cedar Saplings, and Fruit Trees but not too many). If you do that right you should be able to get a boost rating and you will have KK slider on your island with only 6 villagers. Its a hard one that requires a lot of time and effort, but it is doable.

Just an FYI 10 villagers IS NOT REQUIRED for a 5 star island or to unlock terraforming. I only have 9 villagers and have unlocked terraforming and a 5 star island all while keeping blathers in his tent stage! Also amazing video ☺

You need a LOT of flowers to get a high star rating lol, also yeah the tree limit exists and is very mean to me 😂

I got 5 stars from making my rock circle, the sheer amount of mannequins on my island made the game think my island was amazing quality lmfao

I honestly liked the "naturale" challenge this has and pushes! Its both really crazy to do yet something that is a way to make a true-blue hand-made island!! Does that make sense? No? Yee?--

Ooo you could do a challenge that you start with like a stick or a rock and try to trade your way to something really expensive like Raymond or something like that (with friends or nookazon), you see these challenges all the time where they start with like sunglasses and end with a Tesla or a house, you should try this in game!
