Americans really need to travel internationally more. "Cheap food" in most other countries is often quite good quality. The 59 cent noodles here in Germany come with like 3 separate seasoning packs and really high quality noodles. But you'd only need to grab a pack if you're super low on time or funds because a full on schnitzel and 2 sides lunch is 4 euro. The first time I had to go back to the US, I broke down sobbing in the produce section at Kroger because I couldn't fathom how I would be able to eat healthy. Everything was at least 3 times expensive with nothing to justify the price. Eating in other countries will and SHOULD radicalize you. There is nothing unique about the US or its agriculture preventing Americans from having affordable, good quality food.
