What does the Bible say about being disappointed? Is it a sin to be disappointed with God? How can a Christian deal with disappointment according to the Bible? By studying Luke 10:38-42, we can discover at least 4 reasons for disappointment and solutions to those issues.

Summary:
1. Because you have attached your personal expectations to your faithful actions (you think God should give you what you long for as you were faithful).
2. Because other people don't do what you expect.
3. Because you are trying to control God. (Instead, focus on being faithful, but let God be God.)
4. Because God is disciplining you and refocusing you onto Himself.

It's hard to not feel disappointed. I applied for a job in a field that I believed God was training me for, but suddenly the door closed, and now I don't know what to do and it feels like God is being silent, as if I did something to screw up and disappointed Him...

If you want lack, adversity, frustration, sexual continence, silent treatment, second, third best, having to settle for crumbs, unwarranted hope, mind games, waiting endlessly for favorable outcomes, which may or may not happen, God is your best option. He never fails to deliver on disappointments. Oh and he expects constant praise, worship and gratitude!😅
HOWEVER, if God's glory or perfect happiness hinged upon OUR happiness and healing, God would miraculously heal us *BEFORE* we even ask him! It's all about him, his will, his glory, his plans and schemes etc.

Oh this is speaking right to me! I've been a Martha most of my life! It has only been more recently that I have been learning to balance with being more like Mary! I have just been turning my expectations over to God. I appreciate you pointing out the controlling nature of Martha trying to control the Son of God and the outcome of a given situation! The good thing is that The Lord gives us another chance to learn from our mistakes! The Lord always has something better than we have in mind. Praise Jesus 🙌🏻🙌🏻

I commented on your last video. I talked about how my ex girlfriend and I broke up 9 months ago, and that shes already engaged to her new man.

This video also applies. Ive wanted God to do what I WANTED, instead of humbling myself before the Lord and allowing His will to be done. I set myself up for disappointment thinking that God would bring her back to me, instead of just letting it all go and being faithful Gods gonna provide for me.

I'm definitely guilty of being self-righteous instead of being humble before God. I believe praying in the spirit is the best way to stay humble before the Lord. It's hard to go wrong when you pray God's will.

My friend I earnestly prayed for died of cancer this past week. I accepted her death as God's Sovereign’s will. And I did what David did after the first child he birthed with Beersheba died. He feasted. I didn’t feast but I quickly moved on with my normal life. Why??? I learned that the Lord’s intention is not for us to dwell in pain. It is however His will for us to trust Him and accept His decision like a child.

Great video! Knew the moment I saw it in my suggestions that God was speaking. Very informative and helpful teaching. I’m pretty sure I’m dealing with point one and four personally. I don’t think point two applies to my current situation and God recently addressed point three with me personally. Glad to have this video as a resource for when the tough times come.
